Thread regarding ExxonMobil Corp. layoffs

Resigning to work for a competitor

After zero deliberation... I've decided to resign to work for a competitor in a tangential career for a significant pay increase (40%). I honestly did not expect the offer, but that only made the decision all the easier.

The situation at the company is untenable, and the issue lies deep in the culture/systems running the place. Management is tone-deaf, and there is no sign of things changing any time soon.

Each and every one of you working at the company are top performers, no matter what your ranking is at XOM. Even those in the bottom third are capable of being high achievers at other companies.

I highly highly suggest all of you begin putting feelers out in the market for opportunities outside of the company, you might be surprised at the numbers other companies will throw at you for you to leave the toxic dumpster fire that XOM is.

If anyone could compare rankings over the last five years, promotions & knew the why or what fors they might get a glimpse of how corrupt this organization has become.
