EMIT forum discussion

Looks like the audience questions have more people speaking their mind, even with anonymous turned off

Two minor things that annoyed me in the tsunami list of grievances:

1) So nothing against the Fannin shut down project Team but holy fu-k that video was bad. Like what version of MS paint did they use? Boomer videomaker 95?

2) You would think these pseudo technocrats would at least have a decent mic and camera in their 750K+ homes that they flexed their day at during this. Go buy an elgato ringlight, a logitech c920, and at the least a Blue Yeti (could be USB) you degenerates.

EMIT mgmt. is pathetic. They showed 0 sensitivity for those that were kicked out during layoff. They just want to keep stuffing their pockets with $$$.Sick. DWs bi----s!

Why did BK and his mgmt. team didnt address the sli.do question about why some selected folks were recommend for and got CL promotion and raises when the salaries are frozen for all and most of even saw benefit cuts on top. BK and the gang you owe this answer to us.

They want money but not address failed data hub or failed digital projects. Millions lost, but those managers have promotions and our friends getting fired. We can do better friends let us leave with dignity

Rumor has it, MM was on ITChat to fix her mute issue. However, due to the MSP migration, the wait time was 78 minutes.

EMIT LT - For once, do something to earn your hefty paycheck. You should all be embarrassed by the forum today and someone needs to step up to help stop this attrition and the countless other problems we have.

Sincerely,
Everyone that wasted 1.5 hours today

Such a shi* show! KS should be ashamed of sharing so much BS, as usual going in circles with her “sort of”. RB flexing her day was creme de la creme. KQ … his answer was quite aligned with the new leadership framework - or not. Meanwhile Billy boy telling folks to f*** off … this is awesome!!! Someone please bring the popcorns back for the next time!

Not impressed at all.
The team name should be MT (Management Team) and not LT (Leadership Team).
I have not seen any obvious leader (leaders imply followers).

Huge difference between slido tone and speakers Tone.

While some of us got negative feedback on communication skills during our yearly appraisal our exec managers may receive the same feedback.

Lot of work in front of us to recover ….. for those staying.

Nothing new, just the same old song and dance. The most honest part was Bill telling off the people who resigned. If the point was to convince people to stay, I think they accomplished the opposite.

Former emit here - landed on this board and check back cause there's still a few of you that I care about. I get the feeling of "wanting to stick it out / hoping it gets better" , but tech is really hot right now there are a lot of better places to work for even more money than you are making.

I can't say this loud enough, stop subjecting yourself to these laughable forums and being treated like a 2nd class citizen and leave. Imagine a world of "casual dress code, even in the office" along with "not getting fired for one mistaken use of the corp card" , "not having a safety minute before every meeting [which is the d-mbest thing ever]" and "getting paid a lot more". All of this exists outside of EMIT and can be yours.

If you can't find higher comp outside of EMIT, than you should probably not complain on this board because XOM isn't competitive for tech comp and you're already overpaid even with raise freezes, etc.

Best of luck to all of you

the answer by K Q took the cake. someone asked what actions are the LT taking to stem the high attrition. he said there are many questions on sli.do asking what are the LT doing, but he would like to ask all of us to think about what is each one of us doing to contribute to the company, how are we help to build the community?

gosh, are you JFK?

I can't unfreeze pay. I don't have the CL to talk to Dallas. I can't bring back 401K or promotions. I can't decide on the stupid performance assessments. I am paid many, many times lower than you, dear LT!

I'm an analyst in a cheaper country who works 50+ hours a week now, to cover support work because many of my well-loved colleagues have left in early retirements, retrenchments and resignations. Globally so many people have left. The laughable thing is VP says majority of the people are still here, like it is an achievement deserving of another award. The LT asked us to think about what we can do, but you know what? Leaving is sometimes all someone can do, because they are in the same position as me. They cannot influence Dallas, they cannot work with HR, they are not in any position to make decisions.

In a global forum where many people are already distrusting and unmotivated, the one thing that an LT must not do is throw that speech of "ask not what the LT can do for you but what you can do for the community" to the rank-and-file. I'm sure it's an innocent faux pas and faux pas are usually made by people who don't have bad intentions. the so-called LTs they are just workers like us, just of a higher CL and therefore have to put up a show for us sometimes. they're just luckier to get paid more money

R B said it's a year where the LT had to make very tough decisions that they didn't necessarily like to make, but to not let this year define what the company is like. mdm nicey, isnt it in the toughest times that we see true colors? and well, you are still not telling how much more cuts are coming. many of us remember that in a LT talk months ago, you said there are some things you know but cannot say, and some things you don't know. and you hid behind that "don't know" for job cuts, when we now already know that's not true based on what happened the past few months. you all know why trust is lost? it is not for the lack of understanding, but because of the way you all behave

Bill stated a few years ago when he first came to emit that he's accelerating job moves to India, and there is no denying that is still going ahead. the way the LT treated the folks in Europe, do you all think the rest of the GBCs are not watching? do you think people in GBCs are ignorant or selfish, only looking out for themselves, that they don't perceive the heavy handedness of the company, that they don't know this company will one day treat them the same way when India is grown and established? R B said she wanted to bring back the fun and to look forward to good career... come on, have some empathy... watch your own Ted talk. No one cares that you had to make tough decisions. it was much tougher for the people who had to leave. the way you all describe it as trauma, and then went on to say want to bring back fun and excitement career in the same note. do you really feel the trauma of the people? like for real?

I truly look forward to all these forums because because I get to laugh at so-called LT who have absolute power over my career and income, but for whom I have zero respect. if not for the money I wouldn't be here... who would? oh maybe some people who want to fun and exciting careers... right

Go be a hotshot and earn that 300% raise! To all you hotshots out there, that’s not who we are, we don’t really want to be innovative or a good place to come to work to.

Feels like the floodgates are open now, let us leave and cash out on the nice increase the stock has rallied to over the last few weeks.

Another generic town hall but he did make a good point, EMIT employees here acting like they’re the next CEO of Google and Microsoft. There’s a reason you went to some low-mid tier school and joined EM in the first place 😂 sit down, collect your six figures, and enjoy your life of mediocrity like the rest of us 🍿
