Thread regarding Nike Inc. layoffs

Negative feedback

I'm so tired of constantly getting negative feedback from my manager over things that I have very little control over. Especially when I try to explain this to him and he cuts me off as if I'm trying to give him excuses instead of explain how things actually work. Can we get some managers who know what their subordinates are in charge of, please? That'd be a nice change.

@op I’m sorry that you too have a “world class manager”.

About a year into Nike, my manager said to me something along the lines of “you need to show that this function is needed in the organization, if there’s no value add they’ll be rid of this function” as a pep talk. Same person who did not bother to give proper onboarding and does not know how to manage a team. That’s all I needed to know that this is not the place for me.

@1ley - yes to a certain extent, but mixed with this toxic culture and an incompetent ELT. Perfect mix.

This! I loved my job until I got a new manager. Cannot wait to quit.
