Being a “yes man” is not always a way to get ahead at Honeywell?

That's a classic trap in any work situation. Being a "yes" man brings you more work, but not necessarily more personal satisfaction, or money. And, at the same time people expect you to take on more and more.

Don't be fooled, HON likes "yes man" the most. However, I know some people who have tried to progress this way and who were always the loudest cheering every decision made by higher ups, but were just invisible employees until they went to try out this tactic in another company.

I love seeing when these type of people fail miserably and are reprimanded when a problem actually has to be solved, sure anyone can agree with the boss but you also have to be somewhat useful. You will be the first person to be called on when something needs to be solved and fast.

If you are not a “yes” man or can not catch a higher up between your or their legs. You need not apply, because for everyone else it is a dead end, day to day job otherwise.

A ship is headed into rough waters under command of incompetent leader. If all of his/her deputies are yes Man. Guess what is going to happen?

Of course, Harvard school of business has done many studies that yes man leadership eventually sinks the boat or ship

As in the civil service, there is no correlation between success in the organization and competence. The brown-noser is often temporarily useful to management. Unfortunately there are a surplus of them ... too many do-nothings are prepared to debase themselves in an effort to reach the top of the dogpile. With all the infighting and political games amongst them, many brown-nosers suddenly find they've fallen out of favor and out of a job.
