Hopefully his employment package includes a requirement that “Smart Mobility” becomes smart enough to be profitable, rather than being a consistently huge drain on profits.
Same thing happened when Farley arrived at Ford and became CMO. He brought in a guy that had done advertising for Lexus and he let go 2 directors. He never really worked with the directors he fired or even responded to their emails. One had just moved his family from Canada and was steaming mad. The other had led Volvo and she seemed happy to leave.
It was quite apparent that the LL in our group were not pleased to get a new layer of management above them, they thought they were getting promotions.
