When I decided to leave my much smaller company for IBM I did my research and I knew what I was getting into, but the pay increase was large enough to make me think it would make up for it. I was wrong. Being able to enjoy your work, being able to finish everything in time, having a good manager who helps you instead of undermining you...basically, having a good work culture means so much more than I through. I realized the pay bump was not worth the stress I have to endure on daily basis, I just wish I realized it sooner.

Well now you know. Look at the bright side. IBM will probably lay you off and then you will have this valuable lesson to add to your checklist for your next employer. At least you got a pay increase.
Learn what you can from IBM, including the warning signs of a hostile corporate culture. Stick around for at most two years, then leave for greener and cultured pastures.
