Severance-less layoffs

That's what this is. As simple as that. They want us gone and they don't want to pay us to leave. Despicable, but did anybody expect any better from this ELT?

I am leaving. Just got an offer. Higher pay too. Actually loved my job and was a top performer but cant take this no more. Its just too d--n depressing.

There is no legal requirement for severance. Any company can layoff anyone with no severance.

It is about control. Management wants to decide who leaves. Incentives would give employees a portion of the control.

Just get folks out the door. Paying a few months salary vs letting someone hang on a year doing meaningless, unproductive work is saving money. What do you think the productivity of the bottom half folks will be, after this announcement and after 5 to 10 % are laid off each year. What a message to the Houston employees.
