Thread regarding AT&T layoffs

Do many of you ither employees even recommend our services?

I have found even with the discounts and being an employee the billing and customer experience is atrocious. Not worth the efforts or the blowback from family or friends. Once I leave it ia far cheaper on others prepaid brands forbthe same service versus my employee discounts. Will cut the cord altogether if I had to pay full price versus free direct tv. Perhaps in a different culture someone would have advised id--ts Stankey and Stevenson that Direct TV was on the cusp of massive decline and that Time Warner Employees will hate their management style. But once again Stevenson and Stankey got out their hammer and nails and block of granite and tried to pound away. End up in basement of Pawn Shop Pounding each other

@2dnl+1btaa8dx, it seems to me your little story is a perfect example of the overt disdain and contempt with which T holds their customers. And employees.

Not the best business model, I'd say. At least not for the long-term.

Back around 05 we had a visit from a VP to discuss the future. Comments were made about unhappy customers and the response was “customers need to learn that there are millions of them out there”. It’s clear to me that they need no help selling their products.

Can't lie, once they laid me off in 2019, cut all T service. So have family members. Call me bitter...yes I still am.

I 100% do not recommend AT&T services based solely on the poor customer service.

Lily is washed up. She needs to be replaced, she is no longer effective at attracting new customers to T. Bring in a younger twinky as her replacement.

Our products are good but so are other companies. Ours take too long to install, aren’t billed correctly, sometimes not installed correctly. Customer Service is off shored to folks who can only help if your issue perfectly matches their script. I don’t recommend and will disconnect all but cell when I retire. I refuse to pay more than a customer can get with a promo. We don’t invest. We cut costs. Others are investing.

It has been many many years since I have recommended any At&t services to anyone, for 15 or more years if I am asked I tell people to use anyone but AT&T. I have always come to work with the mindset of giving our customer good service but the past few years I have been inside and WOW what a difference. The people that have never worked outside face-to-face providing service to the customer have no care about customer service and no desire to be bothered about whether we provide our customers with the service they pay for or not. The absolute worst are those that have been hired with some sort of certificate or degree. These people have no desire to fulfill their part in providing service that our customers pay for. The workforce inside is terrible and hasn't a clue about providing a reliable product or service. There are way too many that coud not care at all if any customer ever got service they have paid for. It is these thousands and thousands of employees that cause me to EVER recommend AT&T to anyone. These people don't even understand that this company has a product. They think that we magically turn a spreadsheet into money.... LOSERS in the highest degree.

I actively advise everyone who asks to avoid T products and services as if they were poisonous - which isn't too far off the mark.

  • T costs more than T-Mobile or Verizon for mobile service, and doesn't have superior service
  • T's services always are overpriced and all have hidden fees/penalties
  • T does not offer broadband in most parts of Los Angeles, and where they do they aren't any better than alternatives
  • I love Directv, but T has ruined the service by destroying the customer support, ignoring the actual programming & service maintenance while constantly raising prices, so I can't recommend that
  • I advised against HBO Max because of the inconsistent service and high price point

Basically there is nothing about T to recommend. Everything costs too much, has hidden fees, support is horrible, they have disdain for their customers, and are horribly run.

In short, I just tell the truth about T. People are smart enough to figure out the rest.

T cell service truly is the best in my area, and I like DirecTV, so yes... Verizon and TMob have pretty spotty service here.

I've had cable TV and Frontier Vantage, and DTV has the best picture and sound through my gear of the lot. I have Comcast internet and it's been pretty solid, better than Frontier. I don't stream much besides Prime Video and a specialty sports package, due to household programming wants requiring too many services.

I'm not in T a wireline area, so I don't recommend those.

Lily looks like she is hitting Tim Hortons and Dunkin Donuts these days more often than a smartphone.

Before 2015, when Ratty, Stinky and Donovan's wacking transformation hit high gear, I used to recommend T services. And yes, MANY times I had to the Service Escalation to fix all the problems with T's crapulant services.

All friends and family are now using competitor services which are cheaper and better.

So no, not anymore to I recommend T to anyone.

Let Lilly recommend the services and have to work out all the issues with T services and send all the troubles to the Service Escalation!
