Thread regarding Whole Foods Market Inc. layoffs

Is it better here than at Amazon after all?

I liked the term “Amazonification” that someone used.
I have a colleague who is trying to get a job at Amazon, but I'm not sure if the situation there is better? I think that the working conditions here and there differ only in small nuances. It's really bad here, but I don't believe it's worth experiencing the stress of a new beginning because of Amazon.

There is an article published in a number publications today about the HUGE turnover at Amazon. Find it and read it. One guy said he was hired with a group of 23 employees and after 2 weeks he is the only one left. A friend of mine went to work for them as a "picker". His quota per 10 hour shift was to pick, pack, and ship 3800 orders. He received only two 30 minute breaks It's an absolute sweatshop. Amazon is actually concerned about running out of employees.
