Administrative Manager

Has anyone heard of the administrative manager position that has opened up in the southwest to help field managers with administrative work and free up time for more field time.

Yeah, seems like a bunch of noise. Most OA’s are pooled under 1 manager on each directors team in consumer field Ops now. Business Field Services AM’s have a dedicated OA still, but the field managers do not and probably never will.
“ Most level 1’s are secretary's anyway. In SSIM they don’t know what the technical experts talk about on the monthly meeting. That’s life.”
This is somewhat true unfortunately. Just like in craft, you have varying levels of skill/care. I will point out that unlike other organizations (CNIO-DEG/CO, Access-C&E, Mobility Field Ops, etc), Business doesn’t normally put a lot of weight on technical expertise/knowledge at the field manager or development coach level which is concerning, because it’s one of the most technically diverse and complex organizations around (especially in LNS-OOR). Been that way for 15 years now.

Sounds like someone wants to be a clerk with a manager pay.

Waste of cash. The company did their level best to eliminate all these admin assistant jobs years ago. Now they are bringing them back. Looks like things have come full circle. Leadership felt they were paying L1 Managers good coin and they should be able to handle all administrative issues on their respective teams.
