Thread regarding Thomson Reuters layoffs

Nobody should be suprised

Everybody here is viewed by management as replaceable. If they can find somebody cheaper to do what you do, they will. This will continue indefinitely. Nobody is safe from this. If job security is what you're looking for, start your own company. If you can't, then you have to accept the reality of the modern workplace: cheaper is better.

“The graveyards are filled with irreplaceable men” a quote attributed to both Abraham Lincoln or Charles De Gaulle but actually it comes from an early 20th century Frenchman. Thomson Reuters is no better or worse than the vast majority of other corporations of the same size.

OK, thanks Dad--or Mom. I don't think anybody would say they're terribly surprised. More like disgusted.

Respectfully speaking, the products wont be under TR control in 2 yrs. I have been contacted by several investment firms this week seeking info on the Blackstone buyout of F&R and existing TRTA and TR Legal products.
