Thread regarding Nike Inc. layoffs

Where do you get the motivation to work?

It’s pathetic when all that motivates you is your next paycheck. That is now the main and only motive for almost everyone in this company, and it was not like that before.
On the other hand, there are more and more things that demoralize me. It is not at all clear to me how I manage to force myself to get up in the morning and start working here. The atmosphere is zero.

There is a test you can do to help figure how your value.

Go to Home Depot and buy one of those five gallon buckets. Fill it with water about 3/4 full. Make a fist and lower your fist and arm into the center. Remove your fist completely and see what kind of impact you had.

If the water does stay parted, you might be Moses level and should consider the priesthood. If you’re like everyone else, and the water returns, guess what, Nike and every other company out there does not want your whining. You’re a number.

Listen to the other posters, get your motivation from elsewhere, not work. You should honestly look into Jesus as your savior. Got questions dot org and find out what it’s like to have a real identity in Christ. Then you will finally understand total fulfillment.

Seriously… What a mo--n…

The motivation to work comes from having the opportunity to work with one of the worlds biggest companies / brands. A company that is committed to driving change in the world through its purpose initiatives and a company that pays more than 90% of companies out there (Other than Tech)

Oh… and the 120% Bonus; Stock Price Growth; Summer Hours; Friday’s off in July; Paid week off in August; one of the nicest work environments on the planet…

If you can’t see that then why are you even here? Just leave. No one wants you dragging down everyone else with your own self-depreciation and negativity. Move to Uzbekistan and clean sheep sh-t for a living - See how entitled you feel then.

LOL, I hope this is sarcasm

If you need your work to provide your self fulfillment you are in for a looooong life of misery.

Here’s a secret - Nike doesn’t care about you, Nike doesn’t care about the environment, Nike doesn’t care about social justice. Nike cares about returning value to stockholders

If you really need fulfillment and purpose in your job I’d suggest medical field, public service or non profit.

Every Friday off in July and a full week in August paid with the doors "closed" and your 120% bonus will keep people on through summer.
