Thread regarding Honeywell International Inc. layoffs

Is Honeywell Aero Posting Positions That Were Laid Off Last Year?

Last year I was caught up in the Aero layoffs and it was very emotionally draining. Honeywell was the only company I had worked for but I was naive to think there would be a loyalty from Honeywell to it employees. Ironically at Honeywell getting promoted can ki-l your career because it was a couple of months before the layoffs I had gotten promoted then suddenly I was laid off. But thankfully like many people that have posted here I landed at a place with better culture benefits and pay. What I wanted to understand is that is Honeywell posting positions that were laid off about a year ago? I think they there are so many positions posted for Aero that there is no way these are all different positions.

All the internal people applying for these positions, don’t do it! Just jump ship, there is no reason to risk your career at this company if you can get better pay benefits and culture outside.

With Hon it is, 1) can your job be done in low cost regions, 2) contractor, 3) young person just out of college, 4) meet diversity goal, 5) permanent hire from outside at less than what I were paid, 6) if all those fail, manager can try to convince HR to bring back a former Hon person. The goal of HR is lower cost.

I applied fwiw for a reliability job at Tempe . Supplied resume showing I had 38 yrs experience (was RIF'd Nov 2019) at Hon Glendale. No phone call back just HR email "at this time we are pursuing other candidates whose qualifications more closely align with the job requirements for this position. "

Oldest trick in the book!

In my construction days the plywood sign with HELP WANTED spray painted on a project almost finished was to strike fear in every workers heart...

Some of the jobs areal, some are to make people feel like help is needed, some of it is to make people scared for their job because they can see NOTHING going on... They must be going to fire or lay me off!

At engines i believe a majority of the open positions are to hire people who recently left on their own.

I will accept an interview just for the opportunity to laugh at them. Have you ever talked to a phone spammer just for entertainment?

Yes. Bringing some back as B3 vs B4 when RIF’d. Having hard time keeping subcontract techs in the factory. At least one entry or mid level engineer are leaving each week since February. Huge drain.

Aero Olathe has been trying to hire contractors to fill mainly tech positions for some months now with no success. Beyond the RIFs, low wages, minimal benefits, and oppressive management have also driven a lot of hourly and salary types to HW's competitors.

Throwing most everyone into the 5 block with a less than a 2% merit increase may have been the final straw. They are now so desperate for people to stay that they are offering internal promotions. No one seems to know how many people are competing for the same position and the reality is that those who are denied will be even more upset than being screwed in the annual review process. Leave it to Honeyhell on how to master FUBAR!

The fake posting is often used to imply success or rebound from failure.

They will gladly hire you back, at a lower pay/position and your years of service reset. I already got a call asking me back. What I don't think Honeywell expected was that anyone of value they laid off were quickly hired by their competitors.

We are just told to stop RDE program charging for last 2 weeks of June in Aero, to meet Q2
This has happened almost every other quarters now
How can we not knoe our overspend vs revenue only at the end of a qtr?
Goes to show how bad this company is run. Everything is a guess or hope for the best?

I would not apply for any jobs there, no matter how much money they give the risk of layoffs is not worth it
