Thread regarding Optum layoffs

I wish I could quit

People around me are quitting all the time and I can't help but be envious of them. I wish more than anything that I could walk away from here, but due to some personal issues, I'm stuck here for at least a few more years. This makes layoffs even scarier for me, I don't have the option to just pick up and move where there are available jobs. Some of you have no idea just how lucky you are.

They likely went to other corporate cesspools in the US empire.

What happened to all the duhvitians and health partnerians? They dissappeared like dandelion spores. All that singing, dancing, wig wearing, and hand waving. What happened? The place was sold multiple times and many boomers got the fe--s shaft.

We don't want emotional salaries. No dollar store certificates of appreciation, no empty pats on the back, no empty statements, no more propaganda. There's no loyality there. You can give them decades and they;ll give ya a "certificate of appreciation" or $25 chain store gift card.

The thing is, they don't care about your situation. You simply cannot be in a situation where you "can't" be laid off because you might be. And if you are, trust me, you will figure it out. I've totally been there. But in retrospect, I wish I would have spent my energy in being proactive (documenting all my work, achievements, etc for my resume) instead of just fretting. Good luck!

More US empire modern slavery-corporations and US employees with very few employment rights--thank the corporate lobbyists!

Stay away from those corporate simps. Keep your head down, mouth shut, and plan your escape from that vile capitalistic corporation

I was laid off nearly a year ago. Best thing ever. YOU are in CHARGE of YOUR life. I know you feel stuck, but you aren't. Please believe me. Be free. Life is too short. They do not own you. There's a ton of hiring going on right now. Even if you don't get another job right away, don't lose heart. Just embrace life's little joys every day. It's all that really matters at the end of the day! <3

Just leave, don't give em any notice like they give us American employees at whim-will. Life is too short for American nonsense

Why are you stuck there for a few years? Do you have an employment contract, need the money, or personal issues?

They talk about how coming into the office is "vital" to their "culture". It's vital for the CEOs/boards commercial real estate investments.
And then next week they will fire half the team and outsource them to India, SE Asia, and then use corporate mumbo jumbo.

Misery is optional and with the job market wide open do your mental health a favor and get out.
