A few of us in my area are not getting the vaccine. We call ourselves the Unicorn Squad. It's soft of a way of us coping with the situation.
They need to socialize this idea of vaccination so it's inclusive of ALL employees.
Totally agree...some are resulting to name calling. They may be afraid they made a mistake. This vaccine IS different from the accepted vaccines of the past. You realize because it is an emergency measure...the manufacturers have ZERO liability and cannot face legal action.
So, it looks like Ascension has let go of a lot of good people and kept the anti-vaxxers, the right-wing conspiracy theorists, and the do-nothing corporate aristocracy. So much for equity in the workplace. Oh yeah, Ascension. Where the highest value is pure obedience to ignorance, excuses, and laziness — all in the name of Jesus. Sheesh!
Reading through these comments and find it amusing that some choose to resort to 2nd grade name calling because they have nothing of substance to offer. I’m going assume these same individuals realize they are comparing vaccines that have been around for 50+ years and are FDA approved versus emergency use authorization vaccines with no long term testing and unknown long term side effects.
I saw a percentage of 10% of leaders that still were not vaccinated then you had doctors and nurses that were also not.
Even those on the frontlines are not getting it.
Didn't you have to get other vaccines or get tested to see if your childhood vaccines are still effective just to be an employee at Ascension? Because you can't work there unless your MMR, Tetanus, Tuberculosis, hep A, B, C, etc are up to date. This is for everyone in every department. It's normal for anyone who works in healthcare to get vaccines. So, stop being a crybaby you snowflake. If you don't like it, don't work in healthcare.

I am not pro or anti vaccine. It is a personal right. Calling someone stupid for not getting is rude.

You anti-vaxxers all are a bunch of d-mb a$$es! A few generations ago the population of the United States was able to do away with Polio by getting vaccinated against it. Now we have a third wave of COVID which is filling our hospitals. The sad thing is we have an excellent tool to combat it, the mRNA vaccine which is nothing new and has been around for many years. It is not rocket science, quit being a bunch of pu----s and get the damn shot!
How can they mandate a vaccine that is not approved by the FDA? Doesn't Federal Law prohibit this?

Stop crying about it! Either be employed or not. Ascension isn’t the only company mandating vaccination. Before you know it all companies will mandate. Guess what….they’ll get government funding for it. That’s going to be the next step. This is the new reality of living with Covid
Next the government says we need a booster for the Delta variant. They going to make that mandatory as well? Epsilon variant, mandatory booster. How can we allow them to mandate what chemicals are put into our body? How far will they go?
They will just lay them off after vaccinating. Other departments outside of IT will soon be on the chopping block.
Require everyone to get it then lay them off a month or 2 later. Because Ascension cares about their employees 🤣🤣🤣
