Thread regarding Charles Schwab Corp. layoffs

Why do we have layoffs on Mondays? My old company always had them on Fridays?

TPS reports are basically OKRs.

This feels like the Office Space movie... "Sounds like someone has a case of the Mondays." It is time for your meeting with 'the Bobs.' What would you say.... Ya do here? I put cover letters on my TPS Reports...

Statistically, Tuesday is the best day to have layoffs. Historically at Schwab, it was usually on a Tuesday. But then again, the amount of layoffs we had pre-merger was infrequent, but larger. However, during these round of ongoing quarterly layoffs, it looks they have bucked that trend and Monday is the desired day.

Honestly, for most people getting laid off on Monday is a relief. You can head straight to your favorite recruiter's office that day.

On Friday it ruins what might have been a good weekend.

When I was laid off in 2008 it was on a Tuesday, and when I called the Workforce Commission for Unemployment they said since I started the week I will not get paid for it. So maybe its a way for Schwab to cut even more from their bottom line.
