Thread regarding Honeywell International Inc. layoffs

2 PIPs and I was glad to volunteer for the Covid layoffs....what an asylum!

Got PIPed at age 59, and they gave me a plan that was nothing more than my already approved goals (they soft peddled it, almost apologetically). Next year, I was back in block 5 (good boy, here's a biscuit). Year after that, another PIP. This time, under the guidance of the new golden boy (DA), I was told directly that I stunk, that I was the worst in the group. I somehow was worse than the 2 younger guys in the department that spent hours watching movies on YouTube. I was somehow worse that the office Btch Ho that made her bones by backstabbing everyone. At that 2nd PIP meeting I got the impression that someone was listening in on the conversation because the body language of my boss suggested he was not on board with the sht coming out of his mouth. Still, I hate my boss for the way he spoke to me. If it was on the street, he would have been punched in the mouth (and deserved it). But, at the same time, I got the impression he was just a puppet. What a sick, sad, psychotic company. The guys that run that place must be some of the worst people you could ever imagine. Epilogue: Got out on a self volunteer layoff at age 62 when the Covid hit May 2020. 6 months severance (I was there 34 years). Full pension lump sum (like I'm going to trust them to keep it solvent?) Pension now invested and growing. God am I glad to be away from that asylum.

The leaders today are the ones who survived that culture as they came up.
Culture exists because it self replicates. All the rules of evolution apply to amplify those traits that are rewarded.
This is why honeywell will never go back to treating workers with respect.
They can't make meaningful culture change without an external influence.

You should have gotten a lawyer and worked to quadruple it. (Yes, they DO make deals.)

Your story is a very typical story for older workers and any one the boss dislikes and is not 100% the YES man. One wonders where they find leaders with such lack of integrity and willing to sell their souls for a day laborer’s pay check. What goes around comes around.
