I can’t and unfortunately, I’m not optimistic that next year could be nice at Dell. I’m willing to accept a much worse option just to not stay here anymore. This is not a company, this is a dinosaur.

and what type of factual information have you heard recently about layoffs. They're done intermittently, under the radar. If people didn't talk about the company, then there would not be any content here for you to read.
I can imagine being here in a year. There are layoffs occuring but it's not the doom and gloom that it looks like short term. Would you rather be at a company that squandered it's shareholder cash on 3com and palm then sold it off (and missed the covid wave) . . . or a company that distracts itself on space trips for execs?
Im reading this site to know about layoffs not to whinge about the company.
that's your opinion
I do not get the complains - it's layoff page - and not "I do not like that company" page. Go somewhere else and don't come here . It's for people that lost or are risk of losing job and not for these complaining that they could do better but don't .
"Can you imagine yourself in this company next year?

I could not, and I left 3 months ago at age 59. I found a great gig that will take me past retirement. When you get to the outside, you see how old the Dell products, and solutions are. Their GTM strategy is terribly outdated which is why this RIF is happening. Effectively the Exec Suite has failed its employees. They are 18-24 months behind in cloud solutions. APEX is a stop gap, but that isn't even ready for prime time. They are kidding themselves.
What is the walking package?
@OP Bye Felicia!
No but for real, I hope you find a spot at a company where you can thrive. Take massive action, it will happen.
No
I'm hoping to get laid off.
I am hoping to get laid!
I'm hoping to get laid off. Give me that nice walking package.
He is probably still there because he hasn't yet found another job yet. Dell has also not laid him off yet which is probably what he is hoping for. That is why he is still there. Wasn't hard to figure that out, your question of why is he still working there was d-mb!
Then why are you still there?
