Thread regarding Chevron Corp. layoffs

Dude, when are we going back? Since working from home I've already managed to create two more college degrees I'll need to pay for.

What does today's HRCMC email really mean? Are we at stage 2 for the foreseeable future? I'm okay with the proposed hybrid work model, but need to get back into the office soon!

If you are an employee, why? You should be working in some other industry.

I think what OP is alluding to is that they've been pregnant twice since work from home started.

If you want to go back to the office, then go. There’s nothing stopping you other than your lack of motivation.

We won’t be back this year and would be foolish to go back period. Sell the real estate and invest in lower carbon.

I had to go to the chevron building this week to pick up my modern desktop. I simply couldn't believe how few people had masks in the office. There isn't even a temperature check at the door, which shows chevron is purely covering liability. The company honestly doesn't care if people catch covid.

The only reason CVX wants to bring employees back is for tax purposes or justify having two towers that the past year have proven zero value. Also, managers who need to prove their worth.

@xfz+1c4tFS1t I only see benefits for chevron? I’m guessing you’re not a business major. LOL Do you think Chevron is there for you?

I'm in a massive rush to waste hours commuting to the office and sitting there in teams meetings with people around the world.

An email from HR is worthless. This is not even up to DP now. The lawyers are making the decision based on the CDC guidance. If the guidance is not followed and 1 person dies due to not follow the CDC guidelines there will be hundreds of lawyers willing to sue Chevron. Do I agree with the decision, no, but it is what it is.

"I'm working 3 hours a day for Chevron and 3 hours a day for "Company X", and collecting two paychecks."

AWESOME

Who cares. Be in the present. Enjoy and make use of your time whatever be. Wish all you want but the world will move on without you. Grit and pivot and less gripe and indignant.

Two college degrees? I'm working 3 hours a day for Chevron and 3 hours a day for "Company X", and collecting two paychecks. How am I going to pull that off if we have to go back to the office?

We've been at stage 2 for over a year now... maybe Chevron is getting input from the flaccid CDC ?!?

Honestly, what is the benefit for employees to go back into the office? At this point, I only see benefits for chevron.

What do you mean: create two more college degrees?

With Delta, you will not come to office until after new year atthe earliest!
