How did you find your next job/career? Does the outplacement support program really work? How robust is it? Or
Was your new opportunity a product of networking? <5yr here and pondering what to do with no other job lined up currently.

Before you start bashing people (for no good reason), check your grammar and spelling please.
It does not hurt at all to respect other opinions. If your attitude is a result of today's EM culture ... please consider another employer, for your own mental health and ours.
Was there some concern that people that took the PIL were dying?
I didn't find the outplacement service (Right Management) useful at all. Not surprising, considering cheapskate EM always goes for 3rd rate consulting services. Right Management weren't really geared up to help people with science or engineering technical skills.
I attended 2 of their on-line job fairs and it was no help at all - all of the potential employers were in the software/programming/telecommunications space. So I think it might be useful for EMIT employees, but not much use to EMRE, Refining, Chemicals or Business functions.
As for me ? It's been about 9 months now and I'm still looking. The trouble is that I'm on the East Coast, most of the relevant (O&G) jobs are still in Texas and my family really doesn't want to move there.

@OP - The service provided is not really outplacement, but more of a resource for resume formatting, interview techniques, etc. I did not find it useful. My new opportunity developed strictly from my external network. 13yr here.
