Back to work? Mandate vaccine

Is AT&T still planning to send back its union workers on September 30th? That is when we are tentatively supposed to go back. Also was wondering if AT&T is planning to mandate the vaccine for its workers. Any rumors? Don’t see how we can go back with this delta variant exploding unless they mandate the vaccine

BO-M
A federal judge in Texas issued  a temporary restraining order against United Airlines, blocking them from imposing a vaccine mandate against any of its employees in a nationwide class-action lawsuit.
United is prohibited from placing employees with religious and medical exemptions on unpaid leave until October 26 while litigation continues. The judge also prohibited the airline from denying any employee requests for religious or medical exemptions.

The unvaccinated will collapse when a vaccinated super spreader uses the bathroom that hasn’t been cleaned because the janitors make more on unemployment. The unvaccinated super virus getter will need to spread bleach on the floor wherever they walk and it stinks also.

Much to the chagrin of T leadership, the Delta variant will provide at least another year of forced telecommuting. You gotta love it, T can pay for cutting the grass and laundry service for the next year. Do not put away the bunny slippers yet.

Did anyone actually thought there will be reasonable mask enforcement in buildings? The local school volunteer crossing guard has better commitment than these jokers. This isn’t a company that cares about employee health and safety.

I went in today. I observed a group of employees walking in together. The guard did not check any of them for their passcard. We have a mask mandate (regardless of vax status) in our city, 6 of them had no mask, security guard said nothing. A security guard manning another post in the building had no mask.

There is no virus. Just a big hoax to try to control us. Stop bellyaching and get back to work.

Was working from home for years, then Covid hit and we were told that now, we are required to report to the office! Brilliant management decision! We're union employees, everywhere in the country, techs are working from home due to Covid! Supervisors said, "No way," you have to report to the office even though there's a very contagious virus out there affecting your well being. Proof positive, ATT really has some angry, hateful, resentful and jealous imbeciles in management!

Folks, the vaccine doesn't guarantee that you won't catch or spread COVID, hopefully you will get mild symptoms and keep your life. It is idiocy to mandate people going the office if they have managed to perform their roles over the last year remotely. We tell customers that they can communicate anywhere, but not our own employees? This is the bigger issue about public health, keeping people distance will stop the spread.

To mandate the vaccine just to get people back to the office and pure lunacy. This is the company that can't keep the bathrooms clean, think about that.

nobody can make you take a vaccine. it is a nuremberg code violation plus a thing called human rights and you have a say what goes into your body.

Disallowing lawsuits because people want to score $$$ for nothing. Workers comp is accountability.

it just dawned on me now that many of those folks that are vaccinated are now having doubts so they are just lashing back at those who are not vaccinated to justify that getting vaccination is the right thing to do. If we are so confident that the vaccine works, why are we disallowing lawsuits? Where is the accountability?

Please read up on the latest CDC statements. The vaccine is actually causing the vaccinated to be super spreaders plus it does not prevent the vaccinated from getting COVID. It actually makes the vaccinated worse off than before.

I am guessing that over the next several weeks, there will be less force in trying to get people vaccinated as we uncover more side effects and defects of the vaccine. Now they are just asking us to put on the mask again until they can figure out something else to mandate.

I hope there will not come a time when we start ki----g off animals with the ability to carry COVID especially when the vaccine is causing people to become super spreaders themselves. Wonder what will happen to those who have been vaccinated.

I am wondering even more why we are so adamant about getting everyone vaccinated for a COVID that has 99% survival rate. COVID has always been around even in early 1900s with the 1-3% death rate (look it up). Why the hype all of a sudden?

Smallpox vaccine is a good example of why the COVID vaccines are not fully useful. Scientists noticed that people previously treated for cowpox were not catching smallpox. They infected people with the less risky, but similar, disease to eliminate smallpox. The name of the virus for that disease is vaccinia, and the inoculation is still administered by scratching open your skin, applying the virus, and waiting until the pus bubbles clear up and scab over. All other common vaccines are given as intramuscular injection, with weakened or dead forms of the virus or bacteria - not similar viruses

We were able to eliminate smallpox because it only existed in humans. This is not the case for COVID, which exists in other animals. The vaccine is not the full answer for this one.

With respect to requiring vaccinations of represented employees, the employer might need to open bargaining with the Union prior to changing the conditions of employment.

AT&T has already indirectly mandated the vaccine. The current policy is, get vaccinated, attest to that in One-stop, if not vaccinated, wear a mask and distance. There is discussion about adding weekly testing to the antivaxers.

Mandating back to work & the vax doesn’t seem to blend together well. Seems like T would want wfh to save on building costs.

Your fellow union members have been entering the homes of thousands of customers since the beginning with no real knowledge of the atmosphere they are entering. Buck up and go to work. Take the precautions you think you need to take and quit trying to mandate how others live their lives. Or quit if you can’t stand not controlling everyone around you.
