Vaccine Mandate

Will TR require a mandate and if you don't get one you're fired? Maybe laid off?

Could this be an easy way to let people go without paying severance?

“ So, why are you so concerned about unvaccinated people?”

Will repeat again: The vast majority of cases are among the unvaccinated. That means there are significant hosts to keep the virus alive and allow it to mutate so that it could eventually evade existing vaccines.

YOU are endangering vaccinated people AND extending this pandemic.

"The real question is when did people forget that we are a free country? This idea of mandating health decisions is out of control. If YOU are concerned about YOUR health, get vaccinated. It’s a personal decision, and YOUR health is not MY responsibility and never was"

I am appalled that I am in any way associated with you.

…this type of thinking is the real problem.. you are worried about unvaccinated people because you’re vaccinated but think an unvaccinated person is going to cause to you transmit it to someone else??? You’re admitting that even though you’re vaccinated, you’re capable of transmitting it to others. So, why are you so concerned about unvaccinated people? The head of the CDC has come out and said that vaccinated people still catch it and transmit it. THIS ISN’T ABOUT CARING ABOUT OTHER PEOPLE LIKE THEY WANT YOU TO BELIEVE! The real question is when did people forget that we are a free country? This idea of mandating health decisions is out of control. If YOU are concerned about YOUR health, get vaccinated. It’s a personal decision, and YOUR health is not MY responsibility and never was. They are censoring the risks of this vaccine and are hiding it from the people. Do what you feel is best for yourself! People have become so brainwashed by the media, it’s unreal.

It’s a pandemic. The only reason it isn’t worse is BECAUSE of the people who have masked and gotten the vaccine. I will not go back into the office without a vaccine mandate or community spread significantly drops, and luckily my boss is understanding. It’s TR’s business because you could INFECT other employees, even vaccinated, who could bring it home or to the store to kids who can’t get the vaccine; the elderly; and the immuno-compromised. It has public health impact.

If you are unvaccinated you are freeloading off of those who took the vaccine risk, and temporarily made things safer. You are allowing this pandemic to continue by collectively providing a human Petri dish to enable the virus to mutate. If your employment becomes conditional on vaccines, I say GOOD. Read the law—it is entirely legal.

I worry about being with unvaccinated people in the office because the Delta variant is a big concern along with possible new variants. Maybe I won't get sick enough to land in the hospital or die but I could transmit to someone else who is vulnerable. When did we stop paying attention to science and stop caring about other people?

And as far as insurance premiums going up …. How about all the extremely over weight employees? The ones who eat unhealthy? The smokers? The drinkers? Etc etc etc. Discrimination at its finest. Guess all the training TR requires employees to take hasn’t paid off.

If you are vaccinated then why would you worry about another employee or employees child not being vaccinated? You have probably worked with people who have never vaccinated their children. We are told if we are vaccinated it won’t ki-l us or land us in hospital. Sorry but I think you have been taken to the extremes. All you need to worry about is that you have your vaccine. People are losing their minds

Why in the world should a company be forced to keep employees or hire them in the first place if they refuse to get vaccinated? The hit to health insurance premiums could be astronomical for all employees and the company. Your free choice shouldn't be allowed at my expense. And, who is paying for all of those COVID tests? It should come out of the employees pocket.
Are you kidding me....Delta clearly has proven that it is more transmissible and there have been more breakthrough infections. The vaccinated are getting sick and they can transmit it to others.
I don't want to work in an office of unvaccinated people. And, I don't want to work with parents whose children can't get vaccinated yet. Your risk should be yours alone. When it infringes on my freedom it's a whole new ballgame.

Of course they can let you go if you don't get the vaccine and of course you won;t be eligible for unemployment. An employer has the right to make the rules for their co. How many companies require a dr-g test before you are accepted for employment? How many hospitals require other vaccinations for employment?

I can’t believe it would be legal to fire someone for not getting the vaccine and then being refused unemployment. If that happens then I will be a believer that there is a hidden agenda to this pandemic.

@2wvq+1c7RtCdH Except FDA approval of the various vaccines is a foregone conclusion. This issue is larger than TR, and the company will bow to whatever political pressures are most expedient.
There is speculation that unemployment claims will be denied for workers in some areas who are fired for refusing vaccination. No unemployment and no severance seems like a pretty effective way to offload employees in high cost locales, which is clearly a key TR objective.

@2wvq+1c7RtCdH please explain to me how it's illegal to mandate a vaccination as a condition of employment.

They have already stated that they have no intentions of requiring the vax.
I would think with TR having so many lawyers that someone has let them know how unethical, not to mention illegal, it is to require a vax that is only approved under EUA. It absolutely cannot be mandated. Those companies who are doing it will face lawsuits.

I am considering making my own DIY vaccine using a YouTube video tutorial.

If you don't want the vaccine or can not get the vaccine, a clear and negative COVID test result can do the trick. Get tested weekly even. As long as u have a negative test, an employer would lack a leg to stand on considering half the people with full vaccine that I work with have gotten covid. I can prove I dont have it with COVID tests but those vaccinated don't have to prove they didn't catch it after vaccine?
I call FOUL on that one!

Good time for a union vote. Reuter is very close to Reuther, as in Walter Philip Reuther. The legendary fighter for the common man. Vote Union YES!

I would think you could sue them If they fire you over not getting a vaccine. There are many reasons why someone isn’t comfortable getting a vaccine and it is none of TR’s business. Why should it be anyone’s business? That’s like having to divulge health records. Big no no. Supposedly if we are vaccinated and get COVID it won’t land us in hospital or ki-l us so we are told so why should they care? Not like the unvaccinated are a danger to the vaccinated employees. I have mine but respect the people who can’t be vaccinated or aren’t comfortable getting one. With all the diversity and bias training they would be hypocrites if they try pulling this

I got the vaccine. They'll have to get rid of me old-school; using a fake rating system.

They can force vaccinations but then that you make you a bigger liability than if not vaccinated:

Employer may try to force you off the job even and you cannot sue since it's 'at will' employment. You also cannot sue for the defective vaccine either. Hopefully, future employers will not ask if you've been vaccinated or not because it may work against you either way.

Yes - it is cheaper to force people to quit than lay them off and pay severance and increases on unemployment costs, etc. It is very expensive and time-consuming (paperwork, tracking severance, COBRA, etc.) to process lay offs. Companies also have to pay outside legal fees for potential lawsuits too and these legal fees are high.
