I know, I know, there is no such thing as a secure job, however, that still doesn’t mean that people aren’t trying to figure out a way to secure a job.
From what I read here, I seem to be in a minority doing extra work without expecting any reward. However, my impression is that there are many of us at Chase who do extra work without expecting any compensation for it.

If you work hard you will likely be taken advantage of by your managers, told to help out your lazy coworkers by doing tasks that are too difficult for them. Don't do it. If you want a raise and to move to the top of the pack volunteer to train the new diversity hires.
You’re very wrong, child. You must have just graduated from school. The only way to keep your job is to be social and kiss your manager’s rear. Remember to laugh at his jokes and make conversation regarding his hobbies or interests. If you have done that, you’re all set and can get away with pretty much anything
I use to do that. And then I realized that the organization doesn't care one lick about its employees. If you were to just not come in tomorrow, they will just reassign your work and move on. I guess it depends on the type of boss you have and how you are treated.
So what’s the point of doing the extra work
