Thread regarding Honeywell International Inc. layoffs

I have no regrets

It hasn’t been easy working for HON but I am grateful for the experience I’ve gained. I left on my own over a year ago and it was the best decision I’ve made in my life. I made it a point to seek out a company that valued its people and found a great company that encourages growth and believes in helping its employees to grow. We are given many opportunities to advance our careers and the perks are nothing to sneeze at. It took me a while to realize that this is how a company should be but now I wouldn’t go back for anything.

@3ceh- I understand your skepticism about the validity of posts about folks (like me) switching to better opportunities. Here is what I would suggest. Go to LinkedIn and find people who recently left Honeywell. You will get the confirmation. BTW, the CTO of Advanced Material left Honeywell for a job with UL. You can check that out. My former friends in Honeywell know well that they could reach out to me anytime they want to discuss any opportunity in my current company.

@ long gone, if you think we're short-sighted enough to say where we work now after ragging on our previous employer, there's probably a good reason why you're gone.

Have you ever noticed that all these alleged ex Hon employees that post here about great new jobs NEVER mentioned the new companies they have found such great new jobs at? In fact they seem to go outta the way to not give any clue where these great new jobs are at. Even just city or state. Now I'm not sayin that they haven't found some really great new jobs just would be nice if they could give real info. witch would add some validity to their posts and maybe help some people wanting to leave to get on with it.

@OP- it seems that you told my story. The biggest benefit (among monetary benefits) I felt that I got after quitting HON is mental health. A lot of folks I knew have recently left with similar stories.

The quitting spree has been on overdrive since end of Q1, lots of retirements in July, but they’ll try and hire a college grad to do the same job, comically tragic to have these types of managers/directors/VPs that are grossly incompetent

I ended up at Hon toward the end of a long career and knew from Day 1 that the move was a mistake. I experienced quite a few companies as an independent consultant and this is the worst place I've ever worked by an order of magnitude. They don't even try to treat you as anything other than the cost burden they consider you to be.

I can't speak to the manufacturing side, but if you have a college degree you will have a better life if you work elsewhere.
