Thread regarding Dell Inc. layoffs

Early retirement can't come soon enough

I really wish I didn't have to wait for another two years. I'm stressed out as it is and the closer I get to the date, the more I worry about being laid off. I used to enjoy my job but now the constant threat of layoffs has taken all the fun out of it. I'm not looking forward to the next two years...

I was working 2 jobs (Dell and my own business) for the last 5 years. When the WFR package came last Sept - the timing could not have been better. Nice package from Dell plus State unemployment and then the icing on the cake was the extra $300/week Federal subsidy. That's been going on for nearly 52 weeks! That will end in early Sept but it's been a heck of a run and a great way to ease into retirement. Be careful what you wish for? I don't think so. I've been wishing for this for years. Being careful of what you're afraid of is also no way to live.

the new announcement that we cannot return to the office yet means we can slack a little longer. Love cutting my grass at noon.

quite simple solution its called quit.

I don't need to here any s-b story on how you have no money etc.. IF you worked a career than you should have saved for this exact moment.
