Welcome to Kyndryl! Everyone is in good spirits. Reminds me of the HP/HPE breakup.

The lack of urgency is shocking. Executive managements behavior certainly doesn’t mirror the shedding of 1/3 of IBM’s revenue over the last 5 years. HUM maybe it’s not the skill set of the employees, but the Ho Hum attitude of the executive team. NAH its easier to blame employees
Yes duh. Kyndryl employees started today.
It's tomorrow
Well, it's Sept 1. Did anything happen today?
It’s real I guarantee. Not sure why 2 waves. Maybe major G9 went sept 1 and smaller countries going on Oct 1?
There is currently just under 100k in the Slack workspace. Still missing 20% if your 125k number is real.
So what’s the goal of 2 waves vs just once and done
Can confirm. Sept 1 and Oct 1 are two waves.
A spin-off of a spin-off?
IBM Korea announced GTS spin-off to Kyndryl in 3rd Q Looks like end of Sept will be the conclusion

In HP's defense, the split into HPE, HP Ink, and DXC can be seen as reversing the disastrous "strategy" of previous decades of the mega-acquisitions of Compaq and EDS. Yes, the breakup was traumatic for a lot of people, but at the end of it HPE is a much more viable entity than the mishmash of BUs that it emerged from.
It's ironic to note that HP went down that acquisition path to try to go toe-to-toe with IBM, and now IBM is following it down the divestiture path...
I reckon IBM will go like HP did, more splits, more divestiture, a Shadow of it former self. But the board VP's etc will still suck more out of it.
Right of course… 125k go, 90k stay. They are taking some burden off ibm for RAs
I'm lost .. how many will end up at Noneco?
You both may be asking the exact same question in a different way. Perhaps 125k employees are leaving IBM, but only 90k of Kyndryl employees will actually end up working for Kyndryl. If you look at the break up of HP (315k employees) It ended up with 60k at HPE, 55k at HP, over 100k going to DXS (at 1/2 the total revenue of IBM) and then various other entities sucked in the rest (Micro focus, keysight, perspecta, Agilent). So when IBM says 90k employees at Kyndryl, that maybe the final number and not who gets transferred. I suspect IBM is playing very loose with the headcount numbers for GTS. What magic business elixir does GTS have that allows them to operate at a greater efficiency vs any other outsourcer? When DXC was formed they had 25 billion in revenue and 170k employees. Do the math of 19 billion in Kyndryl revenue and you get approx 125k I suspect once 125k go over, Kyndryl will cut to get more efficient or sell off some of their low profit portfolio
Oh, I thought it was only 90K going to Benadryl. The more the merrier.
Can confirm. It’s 125k not 90k.
I thought the new number is 125K.
You mean 90K going to Kyndryl? right? or no?
