Thread regarding Bank of America layoffs

Email regarding return to office

I received an email asking to choose my rto date, I didn’t respond to the email and it said “if you do not respond, we will schedule your return date for September 9th” which is next week. Haven’t received anything since. Does that mean I just have to show up? Or if I don’t receive anything else (where I’ll be sitting etc. and details) just stay working from home? I do NOT want to go back and don’t understand this poor communication. I’m in Phoenix. Any input is appreciated of you know more than I do.

LOL @ @1iqg+1cBO1GWa -

I reviewed 4 years of survey "result" emails and they consistently say a very similar thing. You said you want better connections, you said you want more direction of your career, etc.

You said you are proud to work at the bank, you said the bank cares about the community.

4 years in a row. The emails are not exactly the same, but they pretty much say exactly the same thing. I ponder how these emails can say the same things 4 years in a row if they are so hard at work at addressing the feedback given in the survey (!!! :-D !!! )

Our managers aren’t talking about RTO. Each time we try to bring it up in a team meeting we get hushed. It’s sensitive information blah blah. What? It’s probably because he wasn’t vaccinated and won’t have to RTO anytime soon.

I wonder how many hits the "Leaving the bank" page has seen recently. I visited it today.

Thing is the leaders say..."they want to HEAR us...SPEAK UP...They will make changes as a result of the survey, blah blah blah." All TALK. ZERO ACTION. They are NOT listening because EVERYONE (nearly) is saying they don't feel comfortable going back in yet or we want change--a more flexible, balanced, environmentally healthy work week. IT MAKES SENSE. If i see one more person talk about how being back in the office is fine and good and blah to the blah, while they sit in their closed door office....(insert eyes rolling here)

I couldn’t agree more!! What’s the rush? I was my work for 10 years, then pulled back in the office for a year, then back home due to covid. Our team works harder and more from home. Going to the office takes commute time, parking, breaks etc. I’ve heard so many comments from sr. Management how productive we’ve been from home (I’m in IT) not customer facing. So what’s the rush on forcing us to sit in a building with our ear pods in and doing the exact same thing we’ve been doing for years successfully at home. Makes zero sense.

I didn’t even get an option to choose a return date. I put my info into the tool on August 20th and I received an email on August 23rd stating my return date of September 22nd. I’m sorry I did it now, but I figured that everyone would get a date sooner rather than later regardless of vaxx status since the Pfizer FDA approval was coming. I just don’t understand why they want offices at 100% capacity 5 days a week right now. This is not the time.

Unfortunately yes. I thought I was doing “the right thing” by submitting my status of getting the vax , however seems like the people that the bank begged us to do are being penalized! We have to go back sooner than unvaxed. Vax doesn’t mean you’re bullet proof. I know many that are vaxed that still got it and are very sick. A close high school friend just passed away 2 days ago from covid, extremely healthy and vaxed. Still died. Only 43 yrs old.
