5G...forced out of town

Verizon AND the Union combined the Cable Splicers into one group and have started sending us to the cities to work on 5G. They are forcing the System Techs to work down as Splicers to cover us while we are out of town. Meanwhile the office workers are complaining because WFH might end. Id like to sleep in my own bed and see my kids grow up instead of living out of a suitcase for the next 2 years. Yet, all I see and hear is "Am I gonna have to go into the office to do my job". You WFH babies just need to stop.

  1. Sorry that suck you have to travel. Blame the union not the nonunion employees who are trying to better their own situation
  1. Wireline hasn't been a thing in years. They got ride of that divide.
  1. This isn't kindergarten. Everyone does t get the same treatment.

@emk+1cC1aqGU for all the women and probably men, the problem was resolved when everyone was sent to work at home. I wouldn’t want to be subjected to that everyday and can only imagine how some must feel powerless.

If someone is being se-----y harassed shouldn’t they report it to HR? Im pretty sure thats a winnable lawsuit if management allows it to happen. However they have to report it first and not come to a layoff message board to complain.
Im not sure if HR can do anything about someone having to listen to “baby mama drama”.

What state are you in and how far away are they forcing you. Also how long can they do that to you , doesn't the contract only let them do it for six months ?

"Can anyone show me in the contract where it talks about giving office workers the option to work from home? "

Would you turn to the page in this book that says where the mess hall is ??

This guy is making all this overtime and he’s crying about it? While when office workers are going on about racism and se-ual harassment. I don’t think this is a tech! I bet it’s a bored manager trying to put a wedge between union members.

As a tech myself, I stand with the office workers. Keep fighting brothers and sisters! West Bronx is with you!

For all the people who don’t know. While techs were home garaging, they were getting overtime. Some techs were making 20 hours of OT just driving home from work. That’s about $1,500 just to drive home….:like they did previous to the pandemic in their own cars and using their own gas. Don’t forget, they were paid an additional $300 because they were considered essential. So some techs were pulling an additional $1,800 dollars a week. This guy is crying about doing his job, while office workers are crying about being se-----y harassed. It’s not the same thing! Get a life and worry about yourself. Remember when you walk the picket line, there were techs fighting against your safety.
