Thread regarding Whole Foods Market Inc. layoffs

Can we hope for anything good?

I would like to know what do you think this year's holiday season at Whole Foods Market will look like? Can people hope for anything good? I see that some here are already predicting that the company will be in big trouble. I still have a bit of optimism, although in the meantime I am looking for a new job.

I agree that some higher ups are cheerleaders. That's part of being leadership. You have to get people to buy in. Some are more successful and sincere than others.

However Kronos is such an colossal failure. It cannot write a schedule or track attendance. It will never be able to. We have been using it for 3 or 4 years and NEVER ONCE used any schedule it generated. It schedules outside TM's availability, it has no concept of how the store operates or when we are busy, when loads arrive. etc. I have to manually track attendance every day. Everyone involved with Whole Foods relationship with Kronos is incompetent and should be separated. I think the people in charge of Kronos at WF know that it is a failure. Whole Foods probably agreed to some stupid decade long contract and can't back out. It's just super sad that some super computer that can generate 300 schedules a millisecond can't make a better schedule that a high school dropout with dyslexia.

once they have enough A.I. and software in place to replicate the job duties of the TL and ASTLs they will have a target on their backs...they are often the biggest cheerleaders who have drank the wholefoods/amazon kool-aid for the terrible changes..they get paid to be cheerleaders and shut up..i had a TL who knew better and would tell me in the cooler when nobody was present how he couldnt say anything negative around others but he couldnt stand what was happening and that he felt his job was on the firing line...think about those cute clipboards ,app, and forms available now...kronos doing schedules, time and attendance, data is available from regional on data monster, etc all they need is to downsize these positions and bring them into a pay scale more in tune with the rest of the grocery industry....

Well it will look like a lot of call outs ,understaffed and team members developing health problems like physically injuring themselves or having mental health problems which workers comp doctors at concentra will solely blame you the worker not the working conditions then they will find a reason to separate you from the company after all the overtime and days you came in to work on your days off . What does it feel yo be treated like a disposable single use glove? Yeah that’s amazon’s whole foods. One thing right the new whole foods and amazon do is get rid of team members that gave it all for the company . Stupid stupid team members.

Yes, the purging phase.
Labor will continue to shrink until every long time, high paid TM/TL breaks and quits.
Cheaper than severance.
If you’ve been with WF for more than 5 years, you are a target.
It’s never going to get better. Too many TMs/ATLs/TLs just don’t understand this simple fact.
Gloom and doom? Nah… just reality

the harder it bo--s, the quicker Amazon can make the wholesale changes they want. I think they are just in the 'purging' phase for long term employees that have 0 chance of moving up. They know what they are doing (amazon)
