Thread regarding Bank of America layoffs

Those who are saying they are checking badge swipes

Do you have inside info on this or are you guessing this is what they’ll do? Managers we’re allowing WFH 1-2 days a week pre-pandemic and I was one of them. For 12 years. Never had a word said to me about it.

Anyone know if they're drilling down to time of swiping in? They can't know when you leave, so maybe a half day would suffice just by entry swipe.

I can confirm. They are doing badge swipes. VPN isn’t being checked because it’s not as reliable. They stopped checking VPN in 2019 and started the implementation of badge scans just before we were sent home.

VPN was heavily monitored in my old group prior to COVID shut downs. We also had other employees that were given task of logging everyone's ins and outs.

Yes they check badge swipes. This isn’t speculation. It’s been confirmed by many senior managers. It’s how they always prevented some people from going inside the offices to grab their stuff.

The bank is rowing against the current. I heard they are even removing people from remote work or my work and having them relocate or leave the bank.

Bessant is really the one driving this.

agree. I've never had a direct manager who cared where I worked from as long as the work got done and they could reach me. Once the bank started the call back from my work, the rule became "stay off the report". That report was run based VPN access. so if you were on VPN more than 70hrs in a month you it the report. We were told pre-pandemic that they would be changing the reporting, and batch swipes was mentioned as one possibility, but to my knowledge, they never started that. Maybe they will now, who knows.
