I tried to always be an exemplary employee. Always going that extra mile, always staying as long as it took to make sure everything gets done. And for what? To be told that I'm expendable and if I don't feel like returning to the office I'm free to leave. Despite my legitimate health concerns. This is no way to treat employees who've worked hard to make this bank what it is for over a decade.

@OP+1cPa4gej Well, hopefully you realized that loyalty to a giant corporation is for suckers while you still have time to look for a better job. I'm not saying you should be dead wood, but the reality is that there's nobody in the company making any decisions about your career who would so much as stop to pi-s on you if you were on fire.
Your first mistake was believing anything you did mattered. You are an employee at will. The fact is all of you are replaceable at any time. Why did it take you this long to realize that?

The whole “If you don’t like it, you can leave” is a Cathyism coined when they called us back in 2018. Some of her reports (and some down the chain) were parroting the same like. She even held a town hall with some guy from Cisco who shared her point of view.
This is her legacy. She hired, promoted and mentioned a bunch of henchmen who dislike employees as she does. You may have inherited one of her muppets.
