The people who haven't been living in a bubble are the reason it's still running rampant. It's simple biology. Now with the bank forcing personal interaction during a spike, they're basically complicit in helping it continue to spread. Some people with vulnerabilities have taken every precaution from WFH to grocery delivery and forgoing gatherings and travel and bbqs, only to be told by BofA that the last 18 months of precautions were a waste of time.
I haven't sat next to hundreds of random people on a train with no air filtration. overcrowded. no idea how many are/arent vaccinated, likely nobody to police them to even wear a mask.
maybe you are out there taking risks but that doesn't mean the rest of us are. those with kids are taking it less risky day to day!
And I'm sure all this time since last year you have not shopped at grocery stores, got your otange micha frappucinno at Starbucks, went to a restaurant, saw a movie in theaters, attended parties/pivmucs/bbqs, traveled, etc., and you've been living your life and WFH in a literal bubble.
You're really out of touch with reality. It may be a generational thing, but it's not about being lazy. # of hours worked is not directly related to your productivity and not everybody needs to be in the office with butts in seats to validate leadership's decisions.
Banks don’t like bold, too risky.
Right--and how to use this as an opportunity for change, innovation. Overhaul-the employees who are thriving and doing an exemplary job from home-let 'em stay. The ones who need to be micro-managed-weed them out and either lay them off or find a home for them in the office. LESS OFFICE SPACE. More environmentally friendly. Be the bank that makes the change that WILL COME eventually. It has to. EVOLVE into a company that leads the way for work/life balance. WALK THE TALK or put a muzzle on it because we are all tired of hearing the same song and dance..."We hear you." If you hear us, then do something...something different. BE BOLD. Now is the time to BE BOLD.
