Thread regarding Honeywell International Inc. layoffs

Unrealistic expectations with the deadlines

So far it has never occurred to me that I can’t finish my job on time,,, but lately I’ve been so overwhelmed with work that I often worry I won’t be accurate. It's a huge stress. It is quite clear to me that they are creating pressure on some people to quit themselves, however, for now I am most interested in how do you manage to finish your work at a time when HON is setting unrealistic expectations with the deadlines?

Exactly. What would happen is that people int he department would actually get laid off because now they have people willing to work insane hours for free to get the work done.

Honeywell is a SCAM company run by literal CON ARTISTS who do nothing but steal from their employees. Remember there is NO INCENTIVE to work any additional hours because not only are you NOT COMPENSATED you will then be expected to WORK EVEN MORE FOR FREE.

Leave this horrible company before its too late, you have no reason not to. Start applying today.

Ignore those deadlines. Just remember what happened to a VP of ISC who presided over a billion dollar run up past dues. He’s now the president of Aero. Can’t make this stuff up.

In my group, we could all work 80 hours each week and it still wouldn't be enough to get everything done on time. We can't get newbies and contractors to show up for day 1 when they're hired. So, I prioritize according to what my boss has on the list and let the rest take care of itself. I used to work 50+ hours per week. When it didn't get me anything but more work and unrealistic expectations, I stopped doing that. I'm still here and the work is still here. And I don't worry about anything, because worrying is a waste of my time.

Don't kid yourself. They are certainly handing out retention bonuses right now.

I’m going through the same thing right now. I just started on a project and treated like I should already be done. I have several other projects I’m doing at the same time and this one is acting like they are the only one.

Keep your chin up and resume out. If your workplace is like mine, then the able bodied are moving on to greener pastures faster than they can con people into hiring on. Some newbies still haven't finished their degrees and/or are actually unqualified by normal standards.

Not even temps want to hire on because of the bad reputation and low wages for the market. They are even posting help wanted signs on the highway! Meanwhile they refuse to offer any retention bonuses or promotions to the worker bees who have stuck it out. The talent drain continues as HON is indeed moving to "software".
