Aka, ‘the electronic leash,’ basically I am browsing jobs to maybe apply for and it sayd they provide equipment and a phone. Is it a landline or a cell phone they control that they use to harass the cr-p out of you, or do you use your personal?

Yes. But be aware they track when you p-e, when you sneeze, when you feed the dog.
Don’t ever use their stuff for anything but their stuff. And hide it in a box when you don’t use it.
They will give you a phone it's not a leash by any means. I leave mine on my desk and I set the do not disturb setting on it outside of my working hours. It's better than most companies where they have you use your personal phone and just give you a stipend. Since it's a different phone I can ignore it easier.
You are one of those union A$$es I see. Where does it say wireline? Who made you king of this form? Id--tT!
"Thread regarding Verizon Communications Inc. layoffs" This means Verizon, the entire company jacka$$ or can't you read?
what’s not to understand about wireless having their own forum?

Not understanding wireless vs wireline comment, it is one company now. As for the OP question. No personal devices are permitted on the network to perform company business. So yes you are provided with a wireless phone and a company laptop, no matter what position you want to work. I am wireline for years and have worked years from home and have always used a company laptop and cellphone. You may also be provided with a virtual phone number that rings on your desktop using Jabber. Best of luck.
why would you ask that quest on the wireline page? sounds like you belong on wireless side of the company.
Ty for the answers! I’ll go for it. The company provided phone is a cell phone I take it and not a landline? I had a company cell phone and boy, that thing never stopped ringing. Sounds like a great trade off though, I’m going to try and go for it.
Your home work area should be monitored remotely during work hours by camera for both video & sound for quality assurance.
Company laptop and phone. Some gets siphon for internet. Use yours hotspot if you don’t. Camera usually only required with leadership meetings. Company provided chair or desk but are really nice. Just don’t use your company devices for personal use like online gambling. Be somewhat sensitive to that. Otherwise, it has been a blessing. No morning commute, no office drama, do yourself job! You do miss office happy hour or the cr---y cafeteria food but not enough to go back.
Go for it! Greatest thing to ever happen to me. Cameras are physically disconnected when I don’t use them for a meeting, my internet is paid for, and I’ve never had more freedom. Couldn’t be happier!
