It’s past time for Bill Keillor to apologize for his “Good Luck” comment to his IT people finding new jobs outside the company. Those of us left are: drowning in work, frustrated by no pay increases, no 401k matches, and clueless managers. Mercy, mercy, mercy! Please apologize and stop this ride.

To do that, he would have to care. Newsflash: he don’t care
I'm not judging a person's fashion sense, though that is one of the management mob's fetishes, with subtle jewelry you could also claim. Van Heusen makes some fine shirts by the way.
It's far deeper than that.
It's a taint of the soul.
One thing you can't hide, some busker said, is when you're crippled inside.
Bill should be fired. He's just a scammer robbing the company for himself like most at the top. I'm always surprised he's a big dog. He looks so goofy / nerdy in all the photos they send out when there's a worthless town hall etc.. Pogo haircut and his Van Hussein shirt from Penney's collars sticking way out... he should be at Mattress firm selling me a purple gel cool mattress
@1sjq+1cRHTtHW the EMIT VP job is exclusively the domain of non-EMIT people. The L2 jobs are the ultimate aspiration for climbers in IT, and it’s obvious that the current crowd is clinging on until they expire. No real talent pipeline in EMIT.
I envision PowerPoints are frantically being prepared and meetings being scheduled to explain the situation to BK. I wonder how long it took to prepare the Exxon Valdez overhead projector slides before they could take action.
@1sjq+1cRHTtHW Exactly! Even BK is trying to find an answer himself. Must be cursing those that forced him into EMIT.
Not sure how the company thought a Chemist could lead the software developer pack. He is got zero background in IT and his hotshot comments just amplify his lack of appreciation for the very people that get the work done in the organization he purpotedly leads.
And yet we wonder why we are not number 1 anymore.
At least from 1989 to 2013, BK has never been in EMIT assignment.
Who decided to put him as VP for EMIT? What a BS.
We don’t even have a CTO lol, that’s one of EMIT’s longstanding complaints
EMIT was a kl0wn.
Buried with the makeup on.
So don't expect any 'making up' from BK.
He's skating away.
It is time for an outside CTO - that or outsource all of EMIT. The current leadership of EMIT has some people that were good before they reached executive. Once they crossed that threshold it’s like they lost their humanity. They are going to look up one day soon and realize that the only people left are them and the NREs who are stuck until 55, holding out for that medical insurance in retirement
He has motivated several folks. To leave.
@god+1cRHTtHW , you really think this is enough to stop bleeding and restore the faith and social contract that XOM bosses have broken for good artificially and conveniently using Covid-19 as a cause of this mess? Have any of you not heard any of your bosses telling you to blame everything on Covid-19, whether it being laying off workes, PIPs, getting out of vendors contracts, etc.? All this was ready planned to occur and Covid-19 just provided them a shield to hide behind and put a blame on to cover a strategy that they have already defined.
Why on earth would there continue to be any hotshots for BK to have an apology?
Sounds like it was an invitation more than anything.
Didn't get into that position being a good person, you know.
@god+1cRHTtHW (BK?) - too late for that. I won’t stay even if you grovel at my feet.
OP, pay increases are coming and the 401K match will be restored effective Oct. 1.
I want to be a hotshot 😢
A hotshot, in BK terms, is a person in EMIT (typically a software developer) who has been bestowed good luck to seek other opportunities externally as a result of mgmt's failure to realize a meaningful compensation and technical career framework.
The term was coined by BK in early 2021 at a Global IT forum and has since then been coloquially used to refer to EMIT software developers.
What is a hotshot? Asking for a friend.
Yeah, what a piece of work. You never challenge a bright IT person in a worker's market like this. Same thing is happening to companies enforcing hard RTO policies... IT workers are leaving for places that will let them stay remote most or all of the time.
All of you IT developers are a bunch of hotshots
I fail to see what good that will do without any actual action behind the words
BK here ... all I have to say is GOOD LUCK TO YOU HOTSHOT. Goodbye
