ATT is currently steamrolling an agreement through the union. ATT agrees to backfill tech jobs with term employees until 2023. So no layoffs for now. in return the union will help ATT secure government for their broadband projects.

This is all that the union amounts to now, 1 sided agreements.

Per the CWA, there will not be any involuntary layoffs anywhere since T committed to boosting the level of technicians within the ranks to an agreed upon number. Not sure if there will be voluntary incentive packages offered either since that would reduce the number of techs if there would be any takers. I believe, for now the techs on payroll will remain throughout the country even though the work in some areas just isn’t there to keep all the techs busy for a full day. Basically, techs are working 3-4 hours per day or less in some cases.

Good question. I doubt it since there is a fiber build project ongoing. This project is about 5 years late since Randy wanted to be a star in the movie business. Waisted billions on that debacle.
