PIP

If you are put on a PIP does that mean you're as good as gone?

If you can take control of the situation, successfully address the PIP and kick A_ _ you will overcome it. It helps if you have a manager, supervisor and collogues who care about helping you. On the other hand if they need to cut staff the PIPs are first.

Dont listen to these jokers. Yeah, you have a target on your back but you have eyes on you. Punch the clock and kick a-s. Don't let these sore losers tell you that's it. I've turned it around and even fought ratings. You can fight and improve at the same time. If you cant do this then leave.

Yes, go on short term disability for the mental distress caused by the PIP and start looking elsewhere. They cannot terminate you when you are on STD

In my experience, Yes. I was involved in auditing a coworker in the Collateral Underwriting Department. After the 2nd audit I sent an email to his manager indicating I found no major errors in his work and the quality of his review has vastly improved. He was fired the next day. The only reason for the PIP is to limit company liability and to deny unemployment benefits to the fired worker.

They are giving you a heads up, improve fast or they want you gone.

Yes. Just start looking for a new job elsewhere. You think it sucks now, but it will be totally worth it!

Your time is better spent looking for a new job, rather than try to improve performance. You will always have a target on yourself for next round of cuts.

Yes, Pip means they are covering all their bases to fire you. Are you over 50 years old? Wondering if they are using pip to commit age discrimination.

If you have a difficult, hard to please manager who complains and finds fault in everything like I did, then yes.

Fight what? Improve or leave. Period.
Does it mean you're as good as gone? That's YOUR decision entirely.
Yes, if you can't or won't improve... this is your last chance basically.

Is there any point in trying to fight it?
