Thread regarding ExxonMobil Corp. layoffs

Good By

I accepted the exciting chance
almost in a trance
to have this one last dance

I lifted my chin with pride
because this will be my last ride
with all the opportunities being wide

I'd get to work with the very best
while saying no to all the rest
oh have I been blessed

I moved to a city near the water
not thinking it'd be a sl------r
or raises would be by the quater

I worked on what customers wanted
while good things were just flaunted
leaving me feeling taunted

I found it's not my work that matters
but a contest between chatters
all the rest just splatters

I have walked and talked with my boss
but I'm even more at a loss
after he put on all the gloss

I have made my decision
after finally catching a glimpse his vision
before he can make another incision

It may be what he is craving
he's certainly been raving
but I'll be the one waving

from The Lion King:
Timon: Look, kid. Bad things happen, and you can't do anything about it. Right?

Young Simba: Right.

Timon: Wrong. When the "world" turns its back on you, you turn your back on the "world".

Just saw this on LinkedIn

"Growth is painful

Change is painful

But there's nothing as painful as staying stuck somewhere you don't belong."

Can tell you are happy, if a little bitter.
That too will pass.
