Thread regarding Cisco Systems Inc. layoffs

my old peers goes back to Cisco

I recently found my past Cisco peers goes back to Cisco, majority of them are non technical and non core stuff, and got jobs like customer success manager, director of customer success, customer assurance manager, some soft positions. it is funny to see how this entire thing plays out.. just keep milking the cow.. .. ins and outs..

What's the big deal. Cisco is paying for the job and someone is doing the job. If it really upsets you then maybe move one or do something that makes you happy?

Sorry, but any time a BU person chimes in I cringe. "I do everything" bull.

You are an unpleasant little toad, aren’t you? It just so happens it’s true in this case. I happen to have skills that CX has repeatedly struggled to get up to speed on (it’s been around a while but still quickly evolving). We are trying a new effort to upskill more on this area.
But I don’t mind that so much. It’s all the “customer success” people that are barnacles on real work that upset me.

If those other individuals are going back and it's into the center then have at it. Huge collection of new in career, untrained or incompetent bodies doing scrubs and change windows that are managed by even more incompetent individuals. They could cut that entire org and all of the bangalore/mexico resources and immediately make CX a better group. Cutting maria, alvio, and steve y would be the better way to go though. BU people are entirely useless, coddled introverts that do virtually nothing in dealing with customers. If they are involved it's because something is new and shiny with no docs or testing or it's something absolutely broken and a huge customer sat issue. Sorry, but any time a BU person chimes in I cringe. "I do everything" bull. You people are called in most of the time because you or your team have no idea of what you are doing.

I recognize all those roles. I work in a BU and many times I get pulled into CX “projects”. I end up doing most of the work. There will be some poor junior who is holding the can, and he/she will be updating a PowerPoint deck documenting the deliverables and findings. There might also be a PM to update the AI’s and call the meetings.
On every customer call there will appear 5-6 people with BS titles like is mentioned in the OP. No wonder CX is expensive.

with Cisco, there is no need for a backup cow, cisco is everything.
