Thread regarding Fiserv Inc. layoffs

More work for same pay!

Is it just me, or does that seem to be Fiserv's new motto?

If you're a salaried employee hired to put in 40 hours/week, do 8 in the gate and log off. If you're working more than that and it's not a "crunch time" situation requiring all hands on deck to get the job done, that's on you. If you're feeling pressure to work more hours and often, talk to your manager. This is not a complicated problem to have.

Anything longer than a year?? That seems crazy, I like to aim for 3 years. That gives you enough time to not look like a constant jumper, gives you enough time to work on more things (which is good for the resume), and gives you time to get a bonus and raise... stop laughing some companies do these still! If you flip every year you will never qualify for a bonus. Sadly i've been here for a little over 4 years and my position is stagnating. I tried to jump last year, but remote interviews made me too nervous.

Know your value, and use this company for a year to jump to the next positions. Anything longer than a year, you are losing money and opportunity.

This is the motto of wall street. It is the result of us being a publicly traded company. Name one established publicly traded company that doesn't put profit first. Start ups don't count, they put growth first. This is the new normal, wall street demands we make more profit with less expenses every year.

If you want more money you need to demand it or leave. Know your worth and ask for 10% more.

Agreed. Exactly why I jack around all day on Frank's dime. The only difference is that now I jack around in the office
