Lawsuit filed over vaccine mandate - religious exemptions - Chainsaw RTO Risk to stonk just exploded

The only thing that matters is stonk price to the chainsaw.

Everything boils down to Efficiency Ratio going down (less employees, less expenses, etc)

Guess what? Lawsuits are EXPENSIVE. And messy. And they directly hit the Efficiency Ratio in stonk price lowering effects.

Better buckle up chainsaw butter cup

A group of six United Airlines Holdings Inc. employees sued the airline over its Covid-19 vaccine mandate, alleging that the airline hasn’t made reasonable accommodations for those seeking religious and medical exemptions.

The suit, filed Tuesday in federal court in the Northern District of Texas, alleges that the company is discriminating against employees who have a religious objection to receiving the vaccine, or who qualify for accommodations on medical grounds. The employees allege that United has made it difficult for employees to seek such accommodations and effectively terminates those who secure them.

United tried to head this off, but looks like it failed:

United Airlines’ employees who are granted exemptions to a company vaccinate mandate for religious reasons will be put on temporary unpaid leave starting next month, the airline told staff Wednesday, citing the recent rise in Covid cases.

The airline last month said its 67,000-person U.S. workforce must be vaccinated against Covid-19 this fall, but said it would consider exemptions for religious and personal beliefs as well as medical reasons.

Personally, if you are not intelligent enough during a pandemic to be vaccinated to protect public health, I don’t want you in my company.

As an employer or fellow employee.

For some, for others it's one in the same, morally. Millions of people won't use certain cosmetic products because they were tested on animals. It's not an unreasonable position to be unwilling to use products that resulted from unconsenting use of human tissues.

Read the articles linked... fetal cells for testing, not used in the vaccine itself. a pretty big distinction

This debate is in no way vax vs anti vax. There are millions of people that have willingly been vaccinated that do not believe it should be forced on anyone. Therefore, the real debate is between people that believe in freedom and those that want to be tyrants.

And before anyone says anything ridiculous, no you can't just 'quit and get a job elsewhere'. If the mandates hold up in court, it will be everywhere. You won't be able to work anywhere in Germany...err...the United States without having been vaccinated. That's called coercion and is morally intolerable. It starts with big employers but it won't stop there. It will be everyone, even self employed people that work 100% remote won't be safe. Demonization, coercion, threats, and mandates have no place in healthcare in a free society. It's mutually exclusive, we either have mandates or we have freedom. Bottom line.

BTW, does no one else notice that 100% of the shameful personal attacks are coming from the 'we support forced vaccination" camp? Everyone else is talking about the facts, law, and morality. That's telling all by itself.

@1czh+1cXSuGcQ, hilarious if true -- because what a dilemma! -- but I don't think that's accurate.

Here's the list of the religious exemptions: https://www.vumc.org/health-wellness/news-resource-articles/immunizations-and-religion

Medical could be an extensive list.

Neither is for any of us to judge. I'm not one who qualifies for an exemption and am vaccinated. But, shame on people for judging others and should probably take a look in the mirror first.

For all you religious/sanctity of life people:

The vaccine isn't made from human cells.

The monoclonal antibody treatment you'll be begging for in the ICU is.

Hi urban re----k, could you tell me what religion prohibits you from getting an injection?
So I guess as a part of your religion, you never received any medical treatment? I am surprised that you are still alive.

United Airlines reported today that 97% of their employees have been vaccinated..

There’s always going to be a small % of outliers.

Vaccination requirements have been settle law since 1905.

Even preachers are saying there is no religious reason to not get vaxxed.

Not going to read the article because the headline is so bad.
