Thread regarding Fiserv Inc. layoffs

Remote Employee Layoffs Incoming

Start looking immediately if you aren't at a go-forward office location, directors and above informed today of Frank's chaotic "in-office" mandate and this will trickle to manager > IC employees next: Relocate or you will be gone before the holidays with a package.

Sad what one person has done to destroy an otherwise above-average company to work for. Even if you at a go-forward site, there probably won't be enough people to do the actual work any more which means your team will be abolished long-term.

If the edict is back in office or else then there should not be leadership exclusions.

: @2cbk+1cY1G9be exactly! Who in their right mind would relocate from Central Fl to New Jersey for a company that has no loyalty to its employees?? Frank is a soulless Ja----s!

This makes no sense at all. Client cases arent getting resolved timely. They wont hire people unless they work in an office. Many don't want to work in an office. It takes years to be highly effective in support roles. What a cluster and this is all Frank. Hey we are still a most admired company. What a crock.

I left fiserv and it worked out great. Clearly I still care about people there. It’s terrible what they have done to my former team. Seems like current leaders aren’t really leaders and don’t care. That’s awful

Sorry to hear that about the cards ppl. This is, essentially, a passive aggressive RIF. Make IC's 'choose' to move to a fundamentally unaffordable area for the average Joe? It's a foregone conclusion what the outcome will be 95% of the time. And I think that's the point.

Who tF moves TO New Jersey?

People on my team in cards have been told that Jersey is the location or adios.

So, to be clear, you won't be allowed to relocate to ANY Fiserv location. If you're in Channels and think "Oh, Coral Gables sounds nice", sorry Charlie. You will be given a few options based on your BU. Some ppl might get the option of NJ or Coral Gables, while others might get to choose between Lincoln or... Lincoln. :/D

This comedy of errors is about to thicken! CEO is living in clown world. Ho-k ho-k.

All true, it’s coming > 50 miles and not tied to office. Relocate or get a severance package.

I wasn't going to reply but feel I need to. I was on the receiving end of this message this week and heart broken after being here for almost 15 years. OFD has destroyed this company and I can only hope the board steps in and stops Frank's madness before it is too late. We already don't have enough people to do the work, but now forcing even more attrition? Where did these people learn how to run a company?

New potential clients beware or make sure your contracts have an out, this place is going down fast and it will be unavoidable once this goes mainstream to general employees.

@iko+1cY1G9be - OSI remote you nailed.. if its relocate to an office or else.. its else. Our division was 90 percent remote when acquired that's not going back into the bottle. Franks team is clueless on how banking cores work.. as someone else mentioned here they will solve that by divesture. Client CEO's are calling him now complaining he wont stand for it long. Bank with Frank.. yeah sure Cramer.. Tank with Frank

I was one of those told to relocate or take a package. After 10+ years working for Fiserv, most of them remote, running a very successful team, it is obvious that First Data and Frank are now running the company. They are turning it into First Data 2.0 to relive the glory days of a company very deep in debt that could not attract or retain top talent. I will happily take my package and already have another job lined up in this hot market. I'll walk away with years of knowledge about our business and customers and will leave behind a team that will be decimated by this new relocation strategy. Frank is still living in the 90's and his OFD leaders are so afraid of him that no one will speak up as to how horribly this will impact Fiserv.

@iko+1cY1G9be - That's effing HILARIOUS!

I used to work at the Tanasbourne office (before they moved to the sh---y side of Beaverton.) Some of those chumps truly deserve what they're about to get. I really hope the bootlicking toadies among them who do move are forced to pay the stratospheric Alpharetta real-estate/rental market prices.

If some of my old friends leave FISV, I'll be able to reach out to them and help them along as soon as I get word. A few others? They should consider themselves to be blackballed insofar as Portland Metro.

This is f*#%ing real. Was told today we are being forced to go to some secret "soon to be shared" site in Jersey or we are gone. News includes us who were hired remote. All for the "client experience". Who cares about employees who bust there @$$ here and do more from home than those @$$hats that made this decision? Supposed to get a package or some sh!t if we say no and I will take it. Good riddance. Why move for this place? I did not sign up for this BS.

Pay attention. This is probably accurate info like the poster on Aug 19 who called the 5% RIF incoming.

Wondering about all those Channels folks around the former Hillsboro office. I wager only a tiny fraction will move to hot-lanta (assuming that will be a go forward Channels location).

There are also a number of folks around the former Corvallis office that support a slowly sunsetting core. I would guess hardly any of them will relocate.

Most of what was known as OSI was based on a remote model. They are scattered to the winds. Many will not relocate.

Of course companies the size of FISV will soldier on somehow. But as I sit here and smoke my pipe, I ruminate on how the intervening catastrophes will be mitigated.

Historically Fiserv's pay is pretty low. The bonus structure (below VP's at least) is not close to competitive. For example Managers get 5-10% annual bonus based on their salary. However Fiserv will then only give you a fraction of that say 85%. Then take that and split it half cash and half stock. Quite a few Fortune 500 companies give both stock and cash bonuses not split one tiny bonus. First Data was better at giving bonuses than Fiserv. However did the OFS people ever get bumped up to OFD bonus levels... NOPE. Where I am going with this is if you were remote you kind of accepted it. However if they want everyone in the office, they better start paying competitive as well. Although you know they wont.

Also good luck getting all of those developers in their 60's that are say 1 of 3 people that actually know the code on a given legacy app to move to those locations. They will be gone. Better start planning to migrate customers off those apps.

If you like going into the office, say you hate your wife and kids. Good for you, go. But understand it isn't for everyone and WFH employees can be very productive. Forcing an entire workforce to go one way or the other is pretty d-mb and shows leadership from an old man out of touch with the times.

Frank is a tyrant and one of the most toxic managers to lead a company as big as Fiserv. Flexibility was never an option. The company lied to their employees and the market. Frank doesn’t care about anyone but himself.
