End of an era, business destroyed by incompetent management - good luck to the decent people looking for work and its going to be a interesting for the underqualified managers looking to find work out there at the level they are currently at.

Tech hand, you obviously know nothing of how the Gateshead system works, if truth be told and auditors had any hint of what’s been ‘passed’ off over the years someone would be in prison by now!!

The parts have to be scrapped, anyone told to pass them off have a option along with conscience and its not hr. Anyone can report on the website, its that simple and anonymous. Name people if you are being forced to pass off something out of specification that has the potential to create dangerous in field issues. Acorn is Disaster waiting to happen as we are witnessing. Quality gone to bits, something happens to a nov tech in the field servicing valves made out of specification and wrong material how would you sleep? Unbelievable.

Goods in have never been real inspectors they've been told to pass all acorn parts off wether they're in spec or not. We used to have a reputation for products being late but of decent quality, but thanks to the Osborne failure, we have a reputation for being late and cr-p.

Goods in won’t throw them in the bin though will they , they will just let them go as usual

How's all the Indian subcon doing?
Really good! Goods in passed a 110 them off, they required 2 days rework, then ended up in final inspection to be scrapped off. Second shipment on route.
Keep Calm and Make Them Again or maybe make twice as much? so goods in can throw them in the the bin when they arrive.
WOW I've just saved the company 3 days works, Not bad for an OPERATOR EH?

How's all the Indian subcon doing? Is it cost effective to have our shop floor fix everything they make? Like the manager said, it doesn't matter if its out of spec as long as its cheap, and don't let the real inspectors check it.

Maybe that union tr-------l should walk into HR office on his feet instead of on his red raw knees, and actually do something for the workforce other than keeping his non existant job

Nothing will be announced until 3rd Quarter results have been published.

Going to be a blood bath in the offices

Closure or severe reduction in staff by moving as much as possible to other sites. Keeping core high value items under our control by Re locating to smaller premises.

Mr Scotland to head up project / innovation quotes with engineering etc. Eng will suffer this time.

The Dalesman and his team will be relocate to smaller premises for assembly etc

This is REAL what is about to happen

Been fishing around Companies House. Along with some other research.

Looks like our site is offshored for tax purposes along with a number of other sites

This strikes true that nobody within the facility has Sales in their title. If they do they report to Aberdeen.

UK Tax dodgers. Caveat, I stand to be corrected on this.

Shipping costs spiralling upwards
Gas and electricity spiralling upwind
Wages at an all time high
Material costs spiralling upwards
Not enough transportation / logistics
Little or no sales
Backlog at ports of entry and exit to and from UK
There is no way the site can be running at a profit.

Simple economics.

Get yourself in there, you might have a chance.
Most of NOV staff are too busy to be clowning around.
I think you've come to the wrong site.
Try, sellmyhoop.com
I hear they pay well.
Good luck 👍 let us know how it goes.

Good point! Where is Gatesheads investment?
Our ONLY manufacturing engineer spends all his time in Assembly and outsourcing?

We have no work in assembly.

I think there is more indirect time spent in assembly than any other part of the factory.

But that's where the investment went
What are you waiting for? slow boat from China?
