Slap in the face!

I heard some of the office people got raises. Such a slap in the face to the shop people. Some of which have not had raises in 7 years or so. Management wonders why morale sucks and people are leaving. Well there you go genius!

This is the thing at the old Mono now (Greengate), people back stabbing others who want to better themselves. If your not happy tell your manager how you feel or better still leave.

We certainly don't need shopfloor workers being 'made up', that's been the problem with mono, old fashioned ways being taught to new people, who in turn only know old fashioned ways, then become managers who then tech that to newer people. The very problem they have in greengate right know!

Agreed M Thatcher mono management that don't want people to learn new skills and forced to stay in the same positions because its easier for them to manage

In the last few days the company have moved people up from the shopfloor. This is a good start, hopefully they will bring a little change to the flow, I don't expect too much straight away as Rome wasn't built in a day, but I expect some difference. They will all have eyes on them and should know what needs changing in their area's. 17 years in and finally might be starting something off.

It's got nothing to do with age, it's new people we need, people that are not brought up the mono way (like me), the old fashioned way. The management have been here for years, they have no idea how the rest of the world operates - not one of them.
Change the management, change the lazy culture, change the toxic culture, change the unions (better still get rid) - new people is what we need.

At our location no shop personnel got raises.

Not just office personnel got a raise. Shop hand here and i got a raise. I guess it depends on how you are valued in the position you were hired for.
