Thread regarding Bank of America layoffs

Cold shoulder

I wasn’t expecting my inbox to start filling up with messages wishing me luck or congratulating on my new opportunity, or anything like that.
However, I also didn’t expect to get a cold shoulder from colleagues with whom I have always been on good terms.
Can anyone explain to me why is it that people suddenly change their behavior after you say that you have quit and that you are here for a few more days?

Just be glad that you're out.

You're not family to them; you're just a coworker.

Besides, maybe they're worrying about themselves and their real family and ain't got no time for someone who's leaving and will never see again. Ain't all about you.

They jelly. The bank is fake, the people there are fake, most of us are only there for the paycheck.

It’s easy. They were always fake as f*kc to your face. They never really gave a sh!t about you. People operate on optics. They put on a show in the workplace. You’re leaving now, so you are no longer needed in their fake team work illusion.

Never, ever think people at work give a sh!t about you. These same people that seem nice to your face will also throw you under the bus, if necessary.

What are you 12 years old? Work is not about people caring about you or wishing you well, it’s about everyone for themselves and what they can take from you. If they were such great coworkers, would you even be leaving your job? Probably not.

Be wise at your next job. Never share any personal information and give people just enough canned information about yourself so you don come off as creepy or a lone wolf. But never, ever let them get close to you. You ask the questions when trying to be social, people love to talk about themselves and you maintain control. If they ask you a lot of questions, you respond to them with a question. Got it?

Man, some of you have learned nothing.

Because they are miserable and envy you. They hate being there. Get away from that negative energy.

Jealousy. You took control of your future and they didn't. Good for you.

Simple…misery loves company and that company is now leaving. I have experienced it myself. Don’t let it get to you.
