Thread regarding Whole Foods Market Inc. layoffs

EL visitS in MA

There iS 1 EL that comeS to stores & all he doeS is points wat things are wrong with the store. My poor astl who works his bu-t off got reprimended for not being on top of few things like proper signage. The other astl who doesn’t do anything but knows how to talk got praised n its the laziest of the two. How is that possible? LazY astl spends most of the time on computer & hardworking astl spends more time on floor working with tms. But he is not good enough because he missed few things when el came by. And ya all know who am talking bout. Only reason a lot of tms, leadershi0 included still with store is because this astl. el needs open eyes & check camera to see who really works. 0h wait they already do that so they already know who works hard n yet the other gets compliments. Has this happened at your store where el is buddy buddy with stl and the other astl? I asked why he stll w the company n his response, if i leave who will take care of you guys? yeah the other two sure will not

The OP is absolutely correct... Point with one hand, hold coffee with the other. Said person has lots of feedback on the work everyone else should be doing. Just ask the females that worked for him when he was an stL... I recommend moving a bit south, the eL's are great. Very supportive and in touch.

Regional el all they want iS a yes for everything. No matter what it is just say yes yes yes yes. Dont even bother giving ur opinion because they dont like that. Just smile and said yes you are so right we’ll take care of it right away. Once you master that as so many called stls in the ma region have mastered, you will be ok. Like the other post said, wanna move up? You have to do some @$& kissing. And no you will never be told how great of a job you are doing so dont wait for that.
A lot of ma stls dont know what they are doing, dont even know how use an excel sheet. Every time thiS el comes my stl gets stressed and yells and curses after thiS el leaves. My store has had 3 different stl and none i repeat none of them said anything nice bout this el. they all get stressed out when this el comeS. Kind of funny to see my stl sweat bullets when the el comeS. But then again why do we have elS? Everything comes from global now so wats the point of their job.

The level of responsibility for TLs was designed so they could be fired at any time. Not worth being on call 24 hrs a day.

To be a team leader now is not worth it when a shifty can pull rank on tl’s.
Stl’s are looking for cheap labor to run the store while they are under paid by what at least 30k? They have no idea what it takes to run a team and have to worry about balanced score card as your job dialogue. I decided to leave when I was asked to do too much for store leadership duties not tl’s and type up the action plan for other teams they oversee as a pod leader which is a fake title for people that don’t know sh-t.Who is going to fill your caps next ever clean audit?

Stack it high and watch it fly!
That was the motto back then

Now stack it low n hope it doesn’t rotten!

We scan all day, fill out forms all day, read emails all day, conference calls all days, print tags all day, training videos, how has our duties changed so much. Our quality of our produce our main attraction has gone down the pipe. I buy at different stores n i see flies on most tables, dry vegetables on the wet walls, mold in coolers, expired products, etc etc. how did we get here? Well its because those clowns at the top el, coordinator, n who ever else is on top have no clue wat their are doing. The great program OTS now no one cares, the great displays we used to have now we cant be creative because everything comes from global, global global global. If all decisions are made at global what is the point of ELs. Every question and their answer is “ we’ll check w global for guidance “. If that’s the case, just let us talk to global. Its true my astl got peanuts 2% for raises n they want them to work 45+ hours. TLs even some TMs get paid a lot more than most astls with the double OT and the extra $3/$2. Happy us but not fair for astls that work 45+ hours. I kid u not, someone in my team made like $1.5k just in OT in one week. The great all mighty MA region is no more. All the great people that made it happen are no longer w the company. All we have are STLs who just yell, curse, freak out, no clue wat they are doing, dont even know the policies, no idea how to order simple things like knee pads.

We’ll see what other changes will happen after the holidays. Because believe me they will come faster than you think and this will be the nail in the coffin for most higher ups in the regional office. Maybe there will be only two regions. East and West.

Well signage is important but if you missing one or two why make a big deal? Just be like you missing a sign lets make sure we get it. Not like why, how, when, what, for fks sake its just 2 signs. Anyhow, just hoping regions combine and have these watever they call themselves now, fight for their lazy positions where all they do is just send emails. Do this, do that, dont forget this, blah blah blah. Amazon paying hundreds of thousands to these so call usefull positions. But hey me works every day doesn’t matter n get a 2% increase a year.

Proper signage is important. Maybe if team leaders didn't have to contend with all the pointless tasks foisted upon them by clueless regional clowns, they would have the time to ensure that signage is correct, shelves are stocked, and customers are happy.

But I digress. The sewer known as Whole Foods Market is beyond saving. Nobody cares if team members are unhappy. Nobody fu----g cares, and nothing is going to change for the better. Nobody is coming to rescue you. It's only going to get worse. It's gotten worse since the layoffs seven years ago. It's gotten worse since OTS. It's gotten worse since the Amazon purchase. It's gotten worse since Store Process. Think it can't get any worse? Just wait.

The poignant observations and cries for help on the Culture Compass will at best fall on deaf ears, and, at worst, illicit laughter from the sadists in company leadership. My money's on the latter. The only thing you can do to make things better is to leave. Don't get mad. WFM isn't even worth your anger. Don't become despondent. Don't turn to dr-gs and alcohol to make the abuse you take on a daily basis manageable. Find a better job, leave, and never look back. I get that most of us who have been there for years are invested in the company. The brainwashing they used to give us in our first days of training (before we transitioned to training with a few hours of pointless videos) has ensured that. But it's time to let go of that. They don't care about you, so why should you care about them? Why should you be surprised when your abuser acts like an abuser? You don't fix an abusive relationship. You leave it.

Get on with your lives, future former team members, and leave your abuser in the dust.

come to the floriduh region...we got some regional characters that were cast out from up north and the whole leadership of the region is full of nepotism and favoritism..the executive leadership of this region love yes men...there are soo many astl's and now this new batch of astls from the cdastl program clinging to their precious office/salaried work through office work and email answering..too few work with teams to succeed on a daily/weekly level, its about paperwork and speaking the lingua franca of office work--"moving forward" in "dynamic responses" to "business needs"....we have TLs working off the clock here to make themselves look more productive and efficient in the labor hours provided brown nosing up the ranks into cdastl etc....remember we are under camera surveilance..
