Medical accommodation?

Has anyone pursued and gotten approved for a medical accommodation with RTO? I was told I have to wait to be invited back and I haven’t yet. Wondering about the processs. I am severely high risk for covid and my dr is mortified that my employer is sending people back.

Senior management has zero visibility on how individually productive you are unless there is a pure metric measuring productivity. That is one of the contributing reasons why RTO and no consideration for hybrid or WFM. Of course the reality is for many people they simply are more productive without the tiring commute, the needless distraction of others interrupting complex work, and feeling of being treated inhumanely. I remember how shocked I was that some of my complex tasks took a half day at home instead of a 2-3 days in the office to get done.

Try to be as productive as possible. Even more so than at the office. That would be the best incentive for them to allow employees to continue to work from home. Companies save a lot on overhead when employees work from home.

The official answer is they will review nothing unless you have a date already. They have too many people asking so I expect them to be very selective. I also get the feeling theyll take their time. I advise anyone in your situation to make your plan b just in case.

I have always been surprised how highly educated people like the CEO of Bank of America and his ivy league cronies can be so book smart but d-mbazzes in common sense. Why would you send your employees back to the office in the middle of a pandemic?

Please talk to your dr and look at the FAQs for the medical accommodations question and submit with your drs info. It’s not worth it to go back and get sick. Sending you love.

Please keep us informed. I am very high risk and my wife is more so. I have a doctor's appointment coming up next week and I need to talk to him about RTO. I don't want to bring this cr-p home. Me and my wife have already made the decision that I would resign and not RTO. Sometimes I just hate this job and the banks clueless management.
