Thread regarding Verizon Communications Inc. layoffs

2 hour waits. Understaffed and overworked, and for what?

retail used to be fun, and exciting- work as hard as you can and it’s attainable to make real money.

Now we have less than 1/4 of the staff we had a few years ago and it seems business hasn’t slowed much. Waits often are over an hour in the store and the few staff we have left want to quit because the compensation isn’t close to being worth the abuse we get from angry customers that have waited for an hours.

No end in sight. No back filling positions. It’s only going to get worse.

Put on your big boy or girl pa----s and deal with it. They are paying you to get the job done. Don't be such a millennial and think whining about it will get you off the hook.

I don’t think they’re complaining, that’s the state of Wireless’ stores in the summer of 2021.The conditions and safety concerns have increased the stress of the front line.

Complaining and feeling sorry for yourself won’t help. This company’s leadership does not care about its retail workforce. You guys are viewed as replaceable. Not that that’s always true, but they don’t value you as a retail store employee. Get ready to work for indirect boys.

Wireless retail was always doomed to become the flopping fish, the spaghetti on a spoon. I haven’t been inside a wireless store in years. Simply no need.

You should have seen this coming from as far back as 3-4 years ago. Especially since you’re on this site. I saw the changes and got out in 2019. I knew there was no future here and it was obvious. Once you see them shutting down locations in your district, changing commission structures, and eliminating Individual spiffs, you should have planned your exit.

It's not just retail. Things have changed for the worse for everyone. Retail is just feeling it most because s* rolls down hill. There used to be 3 area presidents and 6 VPs now there are 5 VPs and no area presidents. There used to be indirect and direct directors, now many are gone and it's all dumped on 1 director. You can go up and down the chain of command from SVP to the reps and everyone is getting s* on.
