AT&T Management Severance Package 2021

Yesterday, August 3rd, 2021 Anne Chow and team announced that there are currently no plans for a Layoff Package in 2021. It will be so interesting to see if that remains or is added to the corporate playbook.

House paid off. Put three through college. Two weddings under my belt. $3M in 401K, IRA and pension. I think I'll just go and take my chances.

‘’Santone stated that all benefits are being evaluated and benchmarked”

Yes and they’ll always be benchmarking against the lowest common denominator out there, rarely if ever comparing us to companies providing more

Beware that sticking around and counting on a severance of 6 months is risky...Santone stated that all benefits are being evaluated and benchmarked.. if other companies don't offer mgmt severance packages how long do you think ATT will?

Chow doesn't know what other organizations are doing or even that Stinky might change his mind to cut further

I am assuming that the pre-Medicare subsidy will be gone or severely reduced come 2024. I’ll only be 61. I’d rather take my chances, keep adding to my 401k and paying down my mortgage til they force me out with a package plus an unemployment check. I don’t have a side hustle or IT skills to exploit.

No large scale MVOs will be offered for the remainder of the year. The company knows that if they don’t offer anything, they will be off the hook for Subsidized benefits for those that would jump at the offer.

All they have to do is wait until 1-1-22 when those subsidized benefits are no longer available,,, then lay managent off with just a 6 months severance package.

It’s about the mighty $ my friends.

Despite all of the feedback indicating no MVO (and this makes sense because they need to see how many will leave due to the pre-65 healthcare stunt)...the Finance org is in the middle of one and also had one last year. Any thoughts on why they seem to be the only org doing MVO's? I am genuinely curious...

No plans for a layoff package and or no plans for a layoff ? Could be construed two different ways

this really wouldn't surprise me - the labor market is tight, especially for tech workers & T's laid off tens of thousands under Stankey's "plan" - now that it's all fallen apart, I'm sure someone's worried about having adequate numbers to build out fiber & 5g after laying off tens of thousands of people the last couple of years.

@lrr

You really have a problem with anyone that isn't bargained for don't you? Always with the snide "fancy title" comment. My title is hardly fancy. I'm just not bargained for. Don't understand your vitriol toward such a large part of the workforce. Sorry you had some bad managers along the way.

There won’t be an offer, not even leave now with 6 mos severance. They have mgmt over a barrel. Leave in 2021 and keep your pre-Medicare health subsidy or stay and lose it in 2022. Stankey (jerk) already said the offer is giving us one year to think about it since they announced it in December 2020. I’m retiring end of 3Q.

Why would they pay managers to leave? You have no protection.
You mean less to them than the lowly craft folks.
You could always pay your bills with your fancy title.

No packages for the lower ranks but I bet some vps and higher leave on packages at the end of the year.

Hard to imagine anyone believing anything Chow says. She believes in Unicorns and fa----s. I have no confidence in her at all.
