Thread regarding Bank of America layoffs

My Management Concerned about Departures do I have some leverage

My management in software dev area are concerned about developers leaving and finding replacements. I like my team a lot and the work sometimes. My boss expressed thanks for working through the pandemic.

But If they don't start offering hybrid work schedules I will leave. If they need me for a project demand and my leaving would leave them at a hardship would they consider getting the hybrid work schedule approved? Or will the management just be forced to work short handed?

I plan to consider leaving end of September October.

Its also dependent on the area of tech you work in. Some data can't be touched or commingled overseas or in different jurisdictions. if that's the stuff you work on, you have leverage. if not, see below.

The bank loves to out source jobs to India! We are slowly becoming the Bank of India not Bank of America. Our workforce management department is in India, a lot of fraud work as been sent to India, I call system support for computer issues I get India. They will just tell you "Don't let the door knob hit you in the bu-t on the way out" and find someone in India to do your job.

Bank of America hires tons of H1Bs...the departments in tech have virtually no diversity at all...it's all from India. Most of the folks are good but vast majority are tier B and B talent.
Unfortunately, this seems the go to plan to "reduce costs" but there is no more innovation in the bank at all. It's status quo just like their RTO policy.

Nope, there is a line of Indian developers ready to step in for 2/3 of what you make.

Identify, escalate, and debate risks right?

Went through GT&O boot camp recently and talent is one of the main risk themes I noticed. If this gets brought up and discussed, it will eventually get noticed. I'm not talking about questions to Cathy in an All hands but from the bottom up where managers discuss losing talent because of RTO and WFH options.
